I'm excited for this Though it makes me a little sick that I live in Halifax from September to April but can't be there now

Plus we've been good lately (3 out of 6) but before that the record really isn't that strong. I like our team, and I like our chances, but a number of teams have a chance to come away with the trophy imo. But I hope it's Canada in the end

Re: IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships (2.-18.5., Quebec & Halifax, Canada)

its always gets heated up after the 1st stage which rarely produces anything of note.

so close Belarus better beat the Swiss and make mince meat of the French.

Good luck to my favs

Re: IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships (2.-18.5., Quebec & Halifax, Canada)

Ground series over. Now four teams battle for avoiding relegation (best-of-3)

Slovakia - Slovenia and France - Italy series losers go down to div.1.

Group E
Switzerland 6
Russia 5
Czech 4
Sweden 3
Denmark 0
Belarus 0

Group F
Canada 6
Finland 5
Norway 4
USA 3
Germany 0
Latvia 0

Most likely QFs look like this
RUS-SWE, SWI-CZE, CAN-NOR, FIN-USA...

Slovenian chicks are going back to second division

Match vs Latvia was one of the most pathetic things I have ever seen

Canada hasn't shown anything special so far. They were lucky to beat the USA.
Plus as someone wrote, host nations don't win.

What an awful game by Canada against Norway. Well actually they weren't that bad but Norway's goalie was sick
