Your body needs extra calories to build muscles, (or fat for that matter) and cardio burns calories.

Yeah, I know, which is why people should eat carbs if they know they're going to do cardio. I feel like I lose stamina and endurance if I don't do cardio regularly. I mean, I know I'm supposed to eat at least 2000 calories a day but I top off at around 1800 usually, and this doesn't even include the cardio and weight training which I know isn't good.

Yep, trying! I've seen some gains although I do alot of cardio even though I hear it's not good for trying to build muscle and I get alot of protein. But, not enough calories I don't think. I can't think of the last time I've eaten over 2000 calories and I love food.

Damn, so why do you do so much cardio? You can maintain a good cardio shape by not doing too much, I for example do about 10 minutes of cardio per week (not counting tennis which is only 6 months a years) and my cardio is evaluated in the 15% best in men my age. You don't need THAT much to maintain it

I don't know why I do it alot, but I always do cardio if I go to the gym. I never do weights and just leave. And while I'm not fat at all, I still want to burn some more fat.

Gaining muscle is more important to me for sure though but I heard you can do both as in losing fat and gaining muscle.

Do you guys happen to know of an effective fat/calorie burning exercise that I could do at home?

You can't really lose fat and gain muscle at the same time, unless you'be been totally inactive all your life, then your body might do it a little bit but as a general rule, your body can't lose fat and gain muscle at the same time, it's one or the other.

Any cardio, playing tennis for example but badminton tends to produce longer exchanges so that would be even better.

I've been told the same thing. But, it's amazing how some people are ripped/muscles but also have very little body fat. It's all so confusing. However, I'm not talking about big bodybuilders. Those guys avoid cardio almost completely. A tennis player weight trains but also does a ton of cardio.

Well that's cause they've done cycles of bulk and cycles of fat loss for years, in alternance. You can do a ton of cardio and still gain muscle mass, but you'll have to eat way more to compensate the lost calories.
