i think you should focus on the abs exercises more than on the other exercises.
but do it little by little

But getting bigger muscles (abs) is not about doing sit-ups as often as possible lol. Don't fall in that trap. IT's a bit more complicated than that, you would need a personalized program to maximize your results. PM me if you want..

At our physicals for sports at school we get them measured when they take these things and pinch areas of your body if you know what I mean, I felt bad for bigger kids

Re: GET IN SHAPE THREAD: Weight-loss, Dieters, and Exercise-enthusiast

This thread is incredible! Plenty of good hints and tips, will definitely be looking forward to reading much more of everyone's advice

I've been one of those people who fluctuates a lot in weight - over the last few years, I have varied between 75 to 98 kilograms (not sure what that translates in pounds), but recently I decided to join the gym and am making a conscious effort to try and improve my diet. So hopefully I'll be able to maintain a healthy weight and stay there in the long run.

I've got a couple of particular questions...

Firstly, I am a vegetarian (I eat fish on occassion, but no more than once a week). I was just wondering what would be some good sources of protein and iron that I could consume that don't have meat in them?

Also, when I do go to the gym, how do you recommend I structure my workouts? Is it best to have 1 day of cardio and then 1 day of weights? Or is it better to do a bit of each every time? And also, when doing weights, is it better to have different days where I focus on different muscle groups, or should I just do a mix of everything?

Sorry for having so many questions

I've never had the words to say,
But now I'm asking you to stay,
For a little while inside by arms.

Fellow vegetarian here Soy products, dairy, beans, eggs are rich in protein. Soy also has plenty of iron, so it's a kind of a must-have in veggie diet Other good sources of iron are quinoa, lentils, spinach, oatmeal.

Whatever you do now,
the world still turns.

Re: GET IN SHAPE THREAD: Weight-loss, Dieters, and Exercise-enthusiast

Was in the hospital for two weeks from a nasty chest infection a few months ago and lost a over a stone in muscle (as if I wasnt twinkish enough!). Recently began training again and been trying to put it back on! It was quite disheartening at first to see my performance drop so much, but slowly getting it back! Its so important to keep focused, not lose sight of your goals and keep at it.

Thankfully I dont like being beefy nor nor do I find beefy guys attractive, so as long as I get back all my tone, I will be happy.

Okay... I've taken the longest break from working out (3 wks) since I started working out, but I'm eating super healthy so although I haven't been working out I've still been losing.

Re: GET IN SHAPE THREAD: Weight-loss, Dieters, and Exercise-enthusiast

So I downloaded the MyFitnessPal app to count calories and man is it tough work. I didn't think eating would be so hard. I'm using 2300 cals as my goal: monday I was 890 short, tuesday I was 310 short, today I have 310 left (but it's only 4:06PM). Calorie counting is actually kind of fun and it keeps me on check. I ditched my exercise just to help store some more fat, but I occasionally I do 5-10 mile hikes. tis all

Re: GET IN SHAPE THREAD: Weight-loss, Dieters, and Exercise-enthusiast

Well.. i started today with a diet A diet to gain weight.
I've always had a healthy weight (well 'only just' healthy, close to being underweight), still i'm quite skinny which makes me a bit uncomfortable with myself.
It's extremely difficult for me to actually gain weight, because my digestion works like crazy

Also i want to do more fitness obviously to get more muscle weight

Krajicek Bertens Wickmayer Jankovic Kerber Zvonareva Svitolina de Vroome Flipkens Petrova Safarova Zakopalova Hlavackova Hogenkamp Schoofs Rezai Bacsinszky / Lena D. missing you

McDo diet

No but be careful. Usually if you struggle to gain weight, you will struggle to lose it after. That's annoying. :/ I easily gain a few pounds but I shed them off quite quickly too (like 10 pounds in a month).
You should eat more parts of veggies, red meat (important for muscles I guess), and fish. But you should eat a lot of cheese, that contains a lot of (good) fat stuff (the McDo is not the good fat stuff if you see what I mean).
