Ron Paul raised $4 Mill in 24 hours!!!!

Maybe he has slightly more of a following than the mainstream media would like to acknowledge..

Mark it down: A landmark moment entered the annals of political fundraising: Nov. 5, 2007.

Ron Paul: Dark Horse Or Real Contender?

Texas Republican Ron Paul, the Libertarian presidential candidate who has lagged in the polls but raised as much money as top-tier candidates, passed $4.3 million in online fundraising in 24 hours.

Paul's Haul May Set Online Record

It was a big deal back in 2000 when Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., raised $1 million online in the 24 hours after his upset victory over then-Gov. George W. Bush in the New Hampshire primary.
McCain's impressive take was seen as the birth of online fundraising -- a moment when online donors gained considerable respect.
adsonar_placementId=1280789;adsonar_pid=43749;adso nar_ps=-1;adsonar_zw=165;adsonar_zh=220;adsonar_jv='ads.ad sonar.com'; Paul raised just over $5 million in the most recent fundraising quarter, which ended September 30. The campaign has set an official goal of raising $12 million between Oct.1 and the end of 2007.
As of midnight Sunday, Nov. 4, the Paul campaign claimed to have raised $2.77 million.
Monday's drive was coordinated by an independent Web site but received the tacit endorsement of Paul on the stump this week.

He told supporters at a rally in Columbia, S.C., that the mainstream media is more likely to pay attention if he raises more money. And that attention will lead to more mainstream voters hearing his message.

I hope he runs as a third party candidate (assuming he doesn't win the primary)...to split the Republican vote.

Or maybe some corp is funding him. Sounds VERY suspicious.

Simply amazing. It shows he has a lot of support.

It's not suspicious at all. Corporations can't just give candidates millions of dollars, there are limits. It has to be done through PACs, but the VAST majority of this money came from individual ordinary donors - over 50,000 of them. Donations to campaigns are public record, so you can go see for yourself.

Re: Ron Paul raised $4 Mill in 24 hours!!!!

Ron Paul is not going to win anything.
He has a following based on one thing: anti-war.
Which party will that hurt more?

The GOP or Dems?

Romney has raised more than that in one day and what attention did
he get? Not much. He's very successful on the internet. He won't
win the nod this time around either.

If he were to announce as a 3rd party ticket, he will be crucified for
his other Libertarian views....which the Left hates.

Ron Paul is not going to hurt Rudy.

He is an internet sensation. As was the guy who ran against
Lieberman in the last Senate race. What happened to him?

Moreoever, Ron has said he will not run as a third party.

Bloomberg still wants to run as a third party, please do Mike.
He will hurt the Dems, not the GOP.

A Bloomberg ticket is the kiss of death to the Republican hopes of winning in 2008. Maybe we can both agree on something Samsung...I hope he runs too. Two Guliani's in the general election...splitting the vote among one another sounds delightful to me.
