Epilepsy Question... can anyone help???

I'm currently doing a Psychology project for school and can't find the answer to this question anywhere.

"How does epilepsy affect the nervous system and how does this affect the functioning of the nervous system?"

Lol I don't get it. Any help would be appreciated so much
