Re: What? No Hillary Healthcare Proposal Thread?

It's same old Hillary.
Add about 12 more zeroes to her cost total, and that would still far
short of the cost.

45-47 million 'without insurance.' Please.

Please acknowledge the majority of Americans have paid insurance
through their employers, or paid by themselves. Anyone who needs
health coverage can get it, from the govt., state or fed also.

Fact is that of that 45 million or so, over half can afford to
have insurance, and choose not to buy any. They are betting on
being healthy, and prefer to spend on I-Pods and widescreen tv's
and designer clothes for their kids.

Not to mention the illegal aliens who use emergency rooms as medical
care facilities, at our expense. Legally so.

She is simply saying, you and I must buy insurance. The govt. is saying
you must do this, because we want you to. Businesses, you must offer
more insurance or else! Even if you can't really afford to stay in business
if you do, meaning you might close up, and there go the jobs too.

Odd, just as we see today a Canadian govt. official coming to America, a liberal,
for medical care! First, hope she recovers well, don't wish her any ill will.
Second, what does that say about the Canadian system. Castro used American care
too, as have many other world leaders.

The DMV and VA - see how well they are run. That's how federal health care for all would

Do more to create a more competitive, open, and creative health insurance system for all of us...
let us pick and choose if we wish.

Re: What? No Hillary Healthcare Proposal Thread?

Defending the health care system in the U.S. is insane, unless you benefit directly from it by reaping the profits made by a few at the expense of many. Compared with the rest of the world, we're at the head of the pack in terms of the percent of GDP spent on health care, yet we're near the rear in terms of results.
Right now, the premium cost for the HMO I have covering my family is $1,385 per month. How many people can afford that? And we're limited to going to doctors in "our" plan. If I want access to any doctor I choose, the premium cost would be around $3,000 per month for a family plan.
Sure, wealthy people from other countries come to the Mayo Clinic, but that doesn't justify our health care system. A recent visit I made there with a family member that consisted of a blood draw and a fifteen minute consultation cost over $1,200. How many Americans ever get access to that level of care? Not many.
And Samsung 101, being treated in the emergency room is not health care. If you have cancer, you can't afford treatment and you don't have insurance in the U.S. guess what? You're fucked.
