2nd GOP Debate - Rudy wins, Romney 2nd, McCain just looks mad

Ron Paul - thank you for participating, now rejoin the moonbeam crowd over there.
Go back to being an official Libertarian or something else again. He's in the Michael
Moore/George Soros/Rosie O'Donnell/Deport All Illegal Aliens/Remove Israel from the
Rolodex/Clinton is the cause of Iraq (10 years of aerial bombing led to 9/11...that would
be most of Bubba's watch..............

I think Ron Paul was paid by Rudy to throw up that softball answer, so Rudy could slam it
out of the park. Conspiracy? Yes, Ron Paul is done.

Rudy did very well, concentrating on national security, fighting terrorism, and leadership.

His abortion answer is still very weak. Just say it, as he has in the past, the Roe v.Wade
decision is bad law unto itself - the Court decided it wrong. You wish and hope it ends
up back with each state to decide properly. But, as long as it is the law of the land, you
will do nothing to take away from it. However, you support strict Constitutionalists like
Justice Scalia and Roberts.....

Romney - meeker this time. But, still sharp and looks darn good. If he was not a Mormon, he
would be the clear #2 guy. In the year 2007, we can elect a woman, we can elect a black
man, we can elect a twice divorced guy, we will not elect a Mormon. Sorry, Mitt, too soon,
too much.

McCain - could he look any angrier. He looks old, tired, and like we're all disturbing him.
He's strong on the war, fighting terrorism, and his abortion stand is the right one, as is his
2nd amendment stand. He's just worked so hard to be the anti-GOP Senator, he can't get a lot of
voters to forget his words and stands over the past decade. If he sticks to his stand on
guns, abortion, and the military, he can work his way back.

But, John, toss in a smile, a joke, and perhaps, don't take yourself so darn seriously.

Thompson in the next debate? I hope so.

Newt? Stay out. Be a commentator.

Hannity wanted us to text for the best candidate?!?!? That was just a little too "American Idol" for me. I wouldn't have guessed that alot of the debate watchers even had a clue how to text.

Romney, a Mormon, talking about marriage between ONE man and ONE woman. Weird.

Re: 2nd GOP Debate - Rudy wins, Romney 2nd, McCain just looks mad

I think Duncan Hunter came across very strong.
Unfortunately for Congressman Hunter, no one knows
who he is. He maybe a VP candidate, with a strong
anti-illegal alien stance, strong tax cut stand, and
a personal strong military record, and a son in the
military as well in active duty - again.

Huckabee and Brownback are interesting. Not much else.
Great weight loss there Huckabee. He should do Subway ads.
President, no.

Rudy did well.

The GOP would nominate him if he can keep up the strong leadership and
9/11 and reformation of NYC record in the forefront, and he sticks to
his fondness for Scalia and Roberts publicly. But, abortion could do him
in, no matter what. VP maybe too.

Romney,no way. Like the guy a lot. Too perfect. Mormon won't get nomination.

McCain is mounting a comeback...is it enough though? Is he just too old and too
tired and too cranky at this point? Can't count him out. He could come on
strong in primaries and in polls.....McCain-Rudy in 2008? West-East combo.

Thompson will vault to #3 over Romney when he enters. Two term Senator, actor, and
a much better talker than everyone there except Romney and Rudy......

One more thing: They(Hunter) based a good deal of the Homeland Security debate on Jack Bauer from television's "24". They do know that that's a television show, right?

I wonder what they'd think if they knew the real person playing Jack Bauer is actually a Democrat.

Weird hearing them say that they "want to be just like Reagan" when @ least Reagan had the wherewithal to negotiate with our enemies like Russia; whereas, they seem to want to become President in order to nuke the shit out of any country that would disagrees.

Bill Maher said last night that the undying love that the Repukes have for R. Reagan is kinda gay. No Bill, there are no gay Republicans.

Re: 2nd GOP Debate - Rudy wins, Romney 2nd, McCain just looks mad

Democrats set up more debates, and once again, go chicken - will not work with Fox News.

GOP works with MSNBC, CNN, PBS, etc., all very visibly and notably left wing, a la Chris
Matthews, Charlie Rose, etc., w/o much problem.

They want to get their message out to the public, and are not afraid who may ask the question.

The Democrats continue to run scared of anyone who may veer from the script they prefer and want.

Look at the format the Dems use, and what the GOP has used so far in the 'debates'...and it's pretty
clear which party fears any 'sunshine' on their candidates - the Left.

As Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic House friends work hard to implement rules from 1882 or 1822 that will
silence the minority in debate in the House.

They can't even take modest questions or debate, genuine democracy, as they try to ram through legislation.
Seriously, what is the minority going to ask? The press will scream about it, right? Sure, they will. Barely
a blip will come out of this Draconian move....by Madame Pelosi.

Re: 2nd GOP Debate - Rudy wins, Romney 2nd, McCain just looks mad

I think that 2 candidates clearly stood out

Rudy and Romney

I must admit, I did enjoy Ron Paul being there too (I'll certainly remember his name) but hes not president material

John McCain didnt seem to want to be there? Or maybe he just doesnt want to peak too soon.......................remember the election is a stil a long time off

The Dems aren't chicken. The would rather not participate in the classless Faux debate where the audience was allow to boo and catcall after responses like they were in some middle school argument.

Also, the debates actually had commercial breaks on Faux news...LOL! WTF!?

Re: 2nd GOP Debate - Rudy wins, Romney 2nd, McCain just looks mad

Fred Thompson should enter sooner than later.
I'd vote for him over McCain and Rudy.

Fred for Prez.
Rudy for VP.

Mc Cain was making inroads, but, his amnesty push is going to hurt
him with a lot of Republicans. Even those who favor some form of
long term amnesty are unhappy about this gift of citizenship to
law breaking illegal aliens unfathomable - even for the surly
Senator McCain.

Romney and Thompson - strongly oppose the bill. Good.

Rudy? Silent so far.

If we're so concerned with poll numbers, as the Congress always says it is...
then every American poll shows amnesty is not wanted by US citizens.

I'd love to hear the Democrats answer the questions that were asked of the Republicans on Fox.

Re: 2nd GOP Debate - Rudy wins, Romney 2nd, McCain just looks mad

Text voting isn't all that reliable.
Who is texting? Most people in America
do not text, as even half of all Americans
do not have the internet at their disposal
at home or at work on a daily basis.

Hard to fathom if you do have that, as we
do.

Most polls show that Rudy won the last debate
forum...with Romney 2nd and a surprise showing
by Duncan Hunter, and a mediocre one by McCain.
He didn't hurt himself that night. But,Rudy did
better than the first debate performance.

Thompson is posturing himself to enter, he is using
his ABC radio and internet commentary spot - very new -
to counter the candidates each day w/o announcing.

Newt - he's too 80's. Sorry, the guy just isn't for 2007.
Nice at commentary. His personal life makes Rudy's look tame.

If Fred enters, it will be Rudy, McCain, Romney, and Fred.
I cannot say enough how much the arrogant manner McCain is
pushing his amnesty plan is hurting him. It's not just
the amnesty plan, it is the almost royal/untouchable manner
he does this in. Hugging Ted Kennedy in victory is no way
for a guy to win votes in the GOP primaries.

I think all of this amnesty debate only helps Duncan Hunter anyway...
he has no real shot at the top spot. But, VP maybe. His military
record is stellar, and his sons military record and service doesn't
hurt. Ditto for McCain, as it is for Webb.

Re: 2nd GOP Debate - Rudy wins, Romney 2nd, McCain just looks mad

McCain is bashing Romney now, for daring to question and critique his
amnesty plan.

The guy is losing it.

He's using profanity on the Senate floor towards other Senators calling his
plan amnesty, unpopular, and wrong.

He's attacking his GOP opponents for the presidency with childish fits.

The man cannot take a criticism. Never has been able to.

McCain is a true war hero.
But, he is also a true jerk.
His true colors are coming out.
What his opponents of the right and left have said about
him for a long time is coming true: the guy blows up, and
gets petty easily.

Say what you will about Hillary or Rudy or Romeny, they at least know
when to get mad, respond tough, or let something roll off their back.

Re: 2nd GOP Debate - Rudy wins, Romney 2nd, McCain just looks mad

South Carolina voters and rally attendees cheered Romney and others who opposed
the McCain Amnesty plan. Loudly.

They booed the mention of the McCain plan

Ditto in California as well.
