What Are You Doing To Treat Your Body To Something Nutritious?

Mother Marjorie has eaten yogurt daily for years and years and years. Its nutritious, good for your digestion and promotes better immunity. Favorite flavors? I love'em all! Strawberry Cheesecake, Key Lime, Lemon Chiffon, Strawberry, Strawberry-Banana, and Blueberry.

Mother Marjorie feels that the daily helping of yogurt and 3-5 times/week Ruby Red Grapefruit consumption has kept her "cold-free" for several years.

My current favorite tea is:

I have found good soup and a salad to be a nutritious and general low-calorie combination, and I like it.

I ate one Krispy Kreme around five years ago. It was so greasy it made me feel nauseated

The closest thing to a donut I've eaten for breakfast that's sinful are whole wheat waffles (maybe once/month) at a fav Chicago bistro because they top them with freshly strawberries and a dollop of creme.
Yum, yum!

I've never done the fad diets. I don't think "no-carb" diets are healthy, except low-carb for diabetics. Small portions and a variety of fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy and fish is my primary diet. I do incorporate red meat (generally a steak) once a month. I avoid Mayonnaise, butter, oils (with an exception to extra virgin olive oil).

Weaknesses? (Oh, I'll cheat occasionally) Ice cream, pound cake and strawberry-rhubarb pie.

I have to say I really don't get the big deal about kripsy kremes. I don't find them good at all and they cost more money. Seems like a waste to me.

A Krispy Kreme is nothing special at room temperature. Heat it, however, and it becomes gooey bliss.

You really think Dunkin Donuts are better than Krispy Kreme? Then again, I'm from the SE USA, and Kripy Kreme is more our style. DD's donuts are so dry.

I'm glad I work out because I do NOT have healthy eating habits. Eggplant with corriander, yoghurt and cream, spinach and cottage cheese, lots and lots of cheese, deep fried eggplant....oh god!It used to be worse when I still ate meat, but thankfully, I decided that animals are too important to me. Now I just have an extra helping of dessert

Re: What Are You Doing To Treat Your Body To Something Nutritious?

I agree with the posters that aren't big fans of Krispy Kremes. I just don't like the taste of them...I feel like my teeth are rotting from the sugar.

As for the original topic...I don't eat white bread, white rice or white pasta anymore (unless i go for dinner to a friends and they serve it...I wouldn't choose to buy it for myself though). I eat a lot of salads...I probably spend half my food budget (at least in the winter) on different things to keep my salads interesting.... different greens, interesting veggies, fruits, nuts, different homemade croutons etc. I've also cut out all binge drinking

You're not an unhealthy American eater so Krispy Kream would disgust you. It's greasy and uber-sugary. Your blood isn't 40% high fructose corn syrup so you would find them naaaaaaaaasty! Trust me.
