NBC - wrong to show video - give killer fame in death
Personally, I think NBC was wrong to air the video footage.
NBC and other American outlets would not show America the
political cartoon that caused protests and riots last year.
Too serious, too inflammatory, too political, not good for us
to see, not necessary for us to see it. Europe, ditto.
NBC and other sources won't show us a lot of the 9/11 footage
they have, too gory, too sick, too much for our sensitive eyes.
Ditto for the Berg slaying, the Fallujah bodies burning, the two
soldiers bodies found dismembered in Iraq, Muslim killings in
Asia, Pakistan, or what the suicide bombers attacks really
look like in Israel - too much for our eyes. They censor that.
But, this, NBC quickly put it on the air.
Don Imus and his poor words is nothing compared to this misstep by
NBC. I would like to see the same hysteria and coverage on their
decision to show this, that was given to an old radio shock jocks
words. This is an important debate, not what an old geezer said and
apologized for quickly.
What was the rush NBC? Ratings.
A transcript, a glimpse of a few photos, that would have been
enough for tv. Instead, they air it over & over.
It's on the internet, I-Pods, cellphones, computers all over the
world. Kids are looking at it, and a new sicko is probably looking
at it right now, thinking, yeah, that's right.
