Christmas Memories: Pleasure or Pain?

As Christmas approaches, does the season invoke painful or pleasant memories for you? Do you celebrate the holiday? Did you as a child? If so, how?

I know a fellow who's father used to put on a grungy Santa Claus outfit on Christmas when he was a boy, give his sister a bag of candy and chase him around the house with a stick. I love heart-warming family traditions like this. What are yours?

"When we are young we generally estimate an opinion by the size of the person that holds it, but later we find that is an uncertain rule, for we realize that there are times when a hornet's opinion disturbs us more than an emperor's" - Mark Twain

"The noblest work of God? Man. Who found it out? Man." - Mark Twain

"Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin to slit throats." - H.L. Menken

Re: Christmas Memories: Pleasure or Pain?

I'm 18, so most of my Christmas memories have been amazing. I miss being a child around this time, all that excitement.

We normally celebrate by giving/receiving tons of presents, stuffing our faces, visiting family across the country, and getting tipsy on grandad's red wine collection. No real traditions... just that everyone gets up super early on Xmas morning and waits for dad to set the camcorder in the living room before we all go in and open up everything. I have a 7 year-old brother so it's always nice to see his face light up when he sees the santa sack under the tree.

Women's tennis sucks.

Go Rafa.
