NCAA Basketball Thread 2006-2007

The new season has ALREADY kicked off so you know we have to have a thread for all of us to rep out favorite teams and discuss (argue) about the 2006-07 season.

I'm repping the Michigan State Spartans till I die. This year is more of a rebuilding year for us, but we have some solid players and can make some noise if we are able to jell. Tonight on ESPN is the semifinals of the Coaches vs. Cancel Classic at Madison Square Garden. MICHIGAN ST. vs. Texas right now in the 2nd game and Maryland has already defeated St. John by a score of 92-60.

Rep for your fave team and speak (talk trash) about how they're going to do this year.

I am glad you started this thread but I am afraid there may not be too many responses

anyway, my favorite team is Duke Blue Devils ... we may have lost Redick, Williams etc but the freshman class has looked awesome so far. We goin' to the final four !!!

Re: NCAA Basketball Thread 2006-2007

I don't know what to think this year.
The major conferences have not learned a thing it seems.
There should be more games versus the mid-majors.

I give credit to Boston College.
Vermont has won a game in the Big Dance in the last couple of years and would be considered a tough early opponent.

They might have lost but it's time these big schools man up and really play a tough non-conference schedule.
At least BC now knows what it could be up against when it plays in March.
I'm sure some teams would prefer to have an upset now instead of in March, well they'll feel that way when it happens.

Re: NCAA Basketball Thread 2006-2007

Ugh, Mich St. should be leading this game, if we could score ANYTHING inside the paint. We can't seem to make short jumpers, layups OR free throws. Unforced turnovers have got to come down too. This is a great opportunity for a top 20 scalp.

Credit to Michigan St. for at least playing a tough team in November.
They might lose but they always come back strong in Feburary and March.

They were a good team to look at last year.
Shannon Brown was some eyecandy to look at.

Yeah, they aren't afraid to face tough comp even at the risk of being blown out. And yes they were very good to look at last year, but was Cinderella's (George Mason) first victim.

Early Entry for the NBA Draft but no NBA team drafted him it seems.

That's too bad. He was a decent player. Too bad he was in a mediocre program in college. Maybe his game would've developed a little more.
