Darnit, Murtha out, Hoyer in - oopsie

Darnit, I'm mad!

I wanted Murtha to be on tv talking crazy all the time!

I wanted his ABSCAM videos on tv more.
Not less.

Ugh. My whole day is ruined.

Darnit, darnit, darnit.

Pelosi got a good slap.

The crazy House isn't ready to go full throttle crazy to
the left just yet Nancy.

There is hope for this House.

Not that Hoyer is a conservative at all.

But, he's not a loon.

Old geezer too, he waited around till he got the spot.

Guess the Democrats didn't really want to elect a man
who was formally censured by his party for misconduct,
caught on tape being a crook, in the wake of their win
based in large part on promoting isolated GOP Congressional
scandals.

They also saw the polls: Americans do not want an
immediate Iraq pullout. They want it done better and
quicker though.

We voted as a nation for change. That didn't mean we
want Conyers for President.

Ruined my day.

Re: Darnit, Murtha out, Hoyer in - oopsie

*Why is the media only now showing us the Murtha
tape again (in widespread coverage anyway)?
*Why did the Democrats not vote for him?

Answer - even the Mainstream Media realized Murtha
would be a bad voice and face for the job...even if
they agree w/him. His past is real. His corruption past
is real. He can't deny it or hide from it. His over the
top 'cut and run' talk is too much for a new Dem.
Congress that wants to prove it can lead....not just
campaign. The Democrats in the House, not Pelosi,
knew that.

Darnit, there is hope for the Democrats. That's why
voting blocks are so important. Why a guy like Lott
is picked, they know how to form blocks, and in the
House, Murtha was booted down quickly.

I'm very, very angry about this!

Re: Darnit, Murtha out, Hoyer in - oopsie

It's a defeat for Pelosi.

The Mainstream Media will gloss it over quickly.

They don't want to dwell on any of it..............

Murtha is still her voice though. Make no
mistake about it. Just not in the leadership
role.

Steny is a good choice. He's my congressman. Though I often vote Republican Hoyer gets my vote.

Smart choice for the Dems.

Re: Darnit, Murtha out, Hoyer in - oopsie

Too bad the DEMs don't have it in line like the Grand Old Party, who chose to revive the career of a white supremacist who woes what could have been had America voted Dixiecrat.

samsung, your boys lost and the big man in the big house is a lame duck. They've done nothing over the past 4 years but run this country into the ground and make us an international embarrassment. Time for change.

Best of luck to Nancy, Steny and Jack at trying to get this country back on the right track.

Murtha is supposedly "pro-life" and "anti-gun control", but he's one of the worst for pork and back door deals.

Hoyer is a typical liberal. Why he and Nancy don't get along is beyond me.

Murtha will definately be on tv just like he did before the elections and most Americans agree with him.

Isn't it interesting that Republicans have to dig in the past to find dirt while other Americans are dealing with the present. What about the most recent Republican majority leader who has been indicted and will be facing trial in January? Another reminder that Frist is also under investigation. The GOP is providing enough at present that there is no need to reach back 26 yrs ago.

I'm surprised samsung preferred Murtha to ultra liberal Hoyer.

Re: Darnit, Murtha out, Hoyer in - oopsie

Murtha was one of the first to publicly be against Iraq war and so against Bush's Iraqi policy. Symbolically it is great for the Republicans to see him not get the position. The Republicans must be laughing.

Re: Darnit, Murtha out, Hoyer in - oopsie

Pelosi must know how to count votes - she's more than competent. It was a gesture - to Murtha for sure, maybe even a gesture to the anti-war crowd - red meat for the netroots kind of thing. Sort of like, Nancy Pelosi sent US roses. I think Pelosi knows what she's doing, and may end up as a great Speaker. I'm struck by that story of her "keeping the book" for her father the Mayor of Baltimore back when she was a little girl. She knows politics!

Re: Darnit, Murtha out, Hoyer in - oopsie

Republicans laughing?

Somebody doesn't know Americans politics: Murtha is pro life, moderate, and affirms 2d Amendment rights. This is something Republicans fully agree with.

Hoyer's win is a victory for liberalism. Something Republicans disdain. If you knew American politics you would realize that. Thus, whether you or samsung like it or not, Murtha's "loss" does not make Republican rejoice. Quite the contrary, they were on his side and now must face a formidable Congress that is being headed by liberals.

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.

Re: Darnit, Murtha out, Hoyer in - oopsie

Today the LA Times gives us the scoop on Hoyers'
little scandal plagued past.

Gee, wonder why they didn't give us that info before
the election.

Just coincidence.

I await the hearings and investigations into Harry and
his gang of 7 Dem Senators and Abramoff and old
Hoyers and the others, like Alcee Hastings...please
do appoint Alcee Nancy, do it! An impeached judge
sitting as a Committee Chairman, I like it.

Re: Darnit, Murtha out, Hoyer in - oopsie

The Democrats and the Mainstream Media only needed his face
and voice and cut and run message until the election, and now
they don't need him anymore.

The media had the material on his past scandals, his video,
his past Clinton 'cut and run' messages and did not use any of
it.

Ditto for Hoyer, Reid, Hastings, etc.

The Dems ran on cut and run, they won, so, don't postpone
the running, pull our men and women out now. Don't ever send
them out again, anywhere. Not to any nation or situation where
Musilms are involved, because we sent the message that Muslim
terrorist groups or individuals can beat us w/Public Relations,
a few bombs, and CNN showing snuff films. So, don't put
them in that situation again, not in Darfur, Somalia, Kosovo,
Iran, Syria, anywhere.

Bring our troops back from Europe and Japan and South Korea -
stop those occupations. Cindy Sheehan is right. End USA
occupations.

Don't send them to North Korea either, because Iran is
NK's main partner now, and that involves Al Queda and muslim
extremists.

Bring them back for Christmas.

Whatever results in Iraq after that is the result of the Democrats
winning and controlling Congress, and their legacy.

We don't care if 1 million Iraqis die.
We don't care if Iran takes over Iraq.
We don't care if Al Queda sets up camp in Iraq
as the govt. there.
It was all about oil, so it doesn't matter.
The world will love us once we leave Iraq.
The world will be better off with Iran in control of
the entire middle east.
That was our message to the world.

I get the message.
