Exclamation Help Me Solve This Ridiculously Hard Puzzle!

It took me an hour, and I nearly solved it twice, but at the end, it's still fruitless. Does anyone know the answer to this?

QUESTION:-
There are 5 houses with different colors.
Each house is occupied by 1 person of different nationality. Each nationality likes 1 type of drink, 1 brand of cigarette and keep 1 type of pet. None of them drink the same drink, smoke the same cigarette and has the same type of pet.

Question: Who has fish?

Clues:

- The English man lives in red house
- The Swedian has dog
- The Denmark guy likes tea
- The green house is at the left side of the white house
- The green house owner likes coffee
- The guy who smoke Pall Mall has bird
- The guy who lives in yellow house smokes Dunhill
- The Norwegian lives in the first house
- The guy who smokes Marlboro lives beside the guy with cat
- The guy who keeps horse lives beside the guy who smokes Dunhill
- The guy who smokes Winfield likes beer
- Beside the blue house lives the Norwegian
- German guy smokes Rohmans brand
- The guy who smokes Marlboro lives side by side with the guy who likes to drink water.
- The guy who lives in the middle house, like to drink milk.

I don't know why. It took me about 5-6 minutes. It really is quite logical, so not that hard.

I guess some people may get confused by too many clues. I myself will cross out the clues which I've used(or solved) because if I didn't do so I would get in trouble too.

That would be a useful tip. I quickly made a sketch of the five houses and filled in the blanks using the clues. Visualizing this usually helps too.

ARGH! NO WONDER I CAN'T FIND THE SOLUTION! I DIDN'T THINK OF THAT!

I forgot that "side-by-side" and "beside" can be the SAME SIDE, since there's no direction indicated (left or right)

Thanks for the answer, guys!

Re: Help Me Solve This Ridiculously Hard Puzzle!

This type of puzzle is known as a Logic Problem. I used to tear through entire puzzle books filled with them when I was younger. Normally you can use a graph something like this to make things easier:

Since your puzzle has five variables, there would be more boxes in the graph.

It's much harder without any kind of visualization. But I am sure you would have managed.

Well, I used female logic and worked it out in seconds.

Honestly, what kind of guy would keep fish as a pet if horses or dogs are the alternatives?

Well, the guy who is stupid enough to live in a green house AND drinks coffee when beer is available.

It's not logical in any case, let's face it, there are no Germans that do not drink beer.
