Firefox help

My firefox has just stopped working, it says its accessing a page and an hour still isn't on it. I think it has something to do with the last download package it told me to upload...?

I've downloaded it again from the site, but that hasn't made any difference.

anyone got any ideas what to do now? my internet explorer's working fine so its not my internet connection....

Re: Firefox help

I think you may have to restart your pc, so that the new downloads can work.

Re: Firefox help

Have you tried to uninstall it and then re-install it?

Re: Firefox help

what version are you running? 2.0 should not do that.

what os are on? have you installed any new extensions? give us as much info about your system as you can, otherwise its near impossible for us to help.

Re: Firefox help

Wow, I still have the 1.5.0.8 version I don't have the new one. Now I am afraid to install it

I wish I knew what to tell you, what's wrong, but I don't know It's strange, that it stopped working all of a sudden. Maybe you want to try and install an old version of Mozilla on www.oldversions.com. If it works, it means that something is not fine with the 2.0 version. You could give it a try.

Re: Firefox help

I have heard lots of complaints about Firefox 2.0.

Apparently its slow, awkward, annoying and buggy. Just crap generally.

Opera never lets me down.

Re: Firefox help

Many firewalls require you to re-give permssion to a specific program to access the internet after it has been updated, so it is probably your firewall that is denying firefox from accessing the internet, you need to go inside the settings of your firewall and give permission to firefox to access the internet.

wait are you on windows? mac or linux?

did you check your extensions? you should uninstall all your extensions that are not 2.0 ready and check that you have all the updates.

blah, i have been using 2.0 for months (since before it was released and when it was still a candidate) and NEVER had any problems. i would bet money that everyone having problems is running windows and that the problems have more to do with windows than with firefox.

i am really thinking about downloading firefox 3.0, but i dont know, i still want to have 2.0 on my computer. but i want to try 3.

Windows is the cause of all problems.
