Pelosi goes over Harman - catfight in House

Two extraordinarily wealthy Democratic female Congresswomen from
California are going to be fun to watch for the next two years: Harman
and Pelosi. Pelosi has the power, and she just went over Harman for
a key chairmanship. Instead, giving it to a black Congresswoman,
who has a scandalous judicial past of her own, to make up for the
Jefferson removal (gee, that little money in the freezer scandal).

But, it's fun.

Because local papers were going on about how the two privately
disdain each other.

Good stuff.

Both look great too.
Again, I don't know who their plastic surgeons are or who does
their face peels, but that's good work.

Pelosi has already delegated the key jobs to all non-hawks. Any
fiscal and military conservative Democrat (especially most of the
newly elected members), lousy committee selections and jobs
on purpose. Have fun!

She's rumored to be also rejecting Alcee Hastings for his post. If she does, good for her.

She got the American voters' message.

The character assasination campaign against Nancy Pelosi is beginning already. Soon enough the reich wingers will be saying,

BLAME PELOSI! BLAME PELOSI! BLAME PELOSI!

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.

Terms like "reich wingers" are counterproductive. As the chorus of the folk classic Where Have All The Flowers Gone said:

When will they ever learn
When will they evvv-err learn?

And how can Nancy be giving out chairmanships when they don't even have the majority yet?

When will they ever learn the fact that Republicans always engage in character assasination and that the allegation of a "cat fight" is one such fabrication. Soon enough every problem in the USA will be ascribed to Nancy Pelosi. Just wait and see -- you heard it from me, first.

You're twisting my point, and you know it. Even if you're 100% correct about said catfight (though I've seen mainstream media reports suggesting that these 2 are indeed feuding about whether Harman chairs the Intelligence Committee) the fact remains:

You (and far too many others) using terms like "Reich Wing" plays into the hands of Republicans who want to portray Democrats as out of the mainstream. I'm not saying that character assassination shouldn't be responded to, just that doing so is more effective without the inflammatory rhetoric.

I don't ever really expect much from your posts, but sexism is low, even by your standards.

"Cat fight"? Nice way to attempt to marginalize and trivialize two prominent American women. Not to mention focusing on their appearances, which is the oldest trick in the book.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, when GWB, the anti-christ himself, said that the first thing he discussed with Rep Pelosi, in an example of his ability to work across party lines, was to tell her to what interior decorator to use for her new offices.
