Fox New Reaction to Republicans ass whipping?

Has anyone here seen any of the reaction to the Republicans drubbing on Fox News? How has Bill O'reilly spun this result?

Re: Fox New Reaction to Republicans ass whipping?

Uh, they report it.
Weird how that goes.
They're not celebrating or down in the dumps from
what I saw.
It's a loss they anticipated.

Right...all the polls said so for months.

The Democratic win is much like the GOP wins of 2000, 2002,2004...
very close. We're a 50/50 nation, and when either party can get
1% - 2% to vote their way - they win.

1% difference in 2 years, and the GOP gets some seats back
in both houses - or loses more. Who knows.

We had races settled all over the nation that were w/i a few
hundred and a few thousand votes.

In Virgina, the 3rd party candidate did take votes away from
Allen, and she got about 25,000. Montana, ditto.

It's all fair game. I have no problem w/that.

But, Fox reports what happened.

Enough GOP voters stayed home or voted 3rd party or voted
for a Democrat candidate they perceived as moderate to
conservative to give the Dems the national win.

Why would that happen - they're reporting the Dems win factors,
and the GOP loss factors fairly. It's not spin. It's what many have
been saying for 2 solid years - you were elected as Republicans,
legislate like Republicans. They didn't. They legislated as
Republicrats & RINO's.

Iraq War - yes, major issue.

But, the Dems didn't win on that alone...they had the Foley scandal
ramifications, Foley seat voting problems, Delay scandal, and Delay
seat voting problems, add to that the Rush Limbaugh -Michael J. Fox
mess that hit key states...and that's enough to pull out votes that
helped the Democrats.

You're ticking the GOP base off w/fiscally and socially non-conservative
moves.

Seans been saying that for 2 years.
Britt Hume has said that.
Chris Wallace has asked GOP guests that time and time again.
O'Reilly just complains about everything doesn't he?

I haven't watched much of Fox, but I did watch some of their coverage as the election results were coming in Tuesday night. The misery in their demeanor made the victory even sweeter.

They seemed to think that Christmas had been taken from them, and you know as often as they are off camera or outside smoking on breaks they are talking about how all of us evil Democrats cheated and it's so unfair that Georgie now has to deal with a party being in power that just plain flat out dislikes him and won't let the overgrown monkey baby have his way.

I'm BACK & SINGLE. So lock up all the hotties!

...And LOVE the title Czechfan!!
Yep, the Dems opened up an economy sized can of 'wup ass' two days ago.

I too try to create controversial titles as often as I can.

Re: Fox New Reaction to Republicans ass whipping?

Did anyone watch Larry King last night (not sure if it was a repeat as I am New Zealand), they had this creepy guest person saying that quite a few high ranking republicans are actually gay - it would be funny to see him on Fox News

Thank you for everything Mercedes, now please be nice to Socrates for me, perhaps fetch him a bird or two. We love you, always.

"YOU DECIDE" is their bullshit motto. They bombed the frontpage of the news with other random things like drugmaker recalling bottles, and even still indicate warnings of terrorists elsewhere.

Donald Rumsfeld Out After the Votes Are Counted

The secretary of defense was the latest casualty of the Iraq war, which gravely wounded the Republican Party in Tuesday's vote. Let's take a look at it.

Talking Points believes most Americans revere the U.S. military. Most of us feel terrible when Americans are killed or wounded on the battlefield, but the Iraq situation isn't about ideology. Most Americans don't want to cut and run. They understand that would put America in great jeopardy.

But after three and a half years, Americans are still dying every day and many voters believe there's no strategy for victory in Iraq. Thus, Rumsfeld's resignation on Wednesday.

Of course, that came too late to help the Republicans, who find themselves in the minority on Capitol Hill. If visible progress had been made in Iraq, that never would have happened.

So that's where we are. And every poll showed that Americans wanted change in Iraq and that's why the Democrats won.

Now the unintended consequence of the power shift in D.C. is that some Democrats will try to impose a secular-progressive agenda on the country.

First, there will be an attempt to raise taxes — Ways and Means Chairman Charles Rangel will lead that.

Second, new speaker, Nancy Pelosi, will encourage investigations of the Bush administration, seeking to create a scandal which would help the Democrat presidential nominee in 2008.

But that could backfire on the Democrats as most Americans do not want Mr. Bush attacked.
They want to see if the Democrats can do better. They do not want to see their government ripped apart in a time of war.

There is a struggle within the Democratic Party itself. Far-left zealots like Nancy Pelosi and Howard Dean are stacked up against moderates like Joseph Lieberman and — dare I say it — Hillary Clinton. Senator Clinton knows she can't win the presidency, which she desperately wants, by throwing in with the far left.

So here's what's going to happen in the next few years: President Bush will not get much done. He will veto any attempt to change his agenda, and Congress will not be able to override those vetoes. So there will be a stalemate and a chess game about the 2008 presidential votes.

Right now, the Democrats are in a good position. The country is giving them a chance to improve Iraq and the basic tone of politics in America. But if the Democrats try to destroy Mr. Bush or impose San Francisco values, the country will turn against them. There's no question in my mind.

And that's the Memo.

------------
I want to shoot O'Reilly. Yes, Americans don't like to get ripped apart in a time of war, so attacking the government would only make it worse. But we are going to bring down the war and then attack the government. Seriously, this man is stupid. And he thinks that "San Francisco" values will make USA turn against themselves. Puhlease.
