Re: Best Gay Film/Movie

Just saw The Normal Heart. What a great movie that provides a lot of history and insight to a terrible virus. I can't even begin to imagine the pain, heartache, and fear that so many were going through at that time. And to think it could have been any of us.

Re: Best Gay Film/Movie

I don't know if it has been mentioned but there's a french comedy film "Le placard (The closet)" about a guy who works in a condom factory and is about to get fired, so he pretends to be gay to stay in his job... It's a very funny movie.

YES!

This is a modern classic, and I'm anticipating Brazil will send this film as their official selection to the Oscars.

That final scene when *spoilers*

When they walk away, away from the bully, holding hands is just so beautiful and perfect and that's how every romantic gay film should end. I mean, I know chances are that they are going to be teased next time they show up at school, but at least they'll have each other.

Here are some scenes from the film:

Re: Best Gay Film/Movie

I tried to watch this in the theaters when I was in Brazil last month, but I could not find it, and especially not with English subs. I agree that it's a beautiful movie. I'm impressed with the character development, considering how short the movie is. And all the romance-movie cliches actually work here, because one of them is blind.

I love that scene at the end--it was my favorite scene in the whole movie. However, I think one of the things I liked about the movie was that even though there were bullies, I didn't think there was any real sense of discrimination/hatred.

Jongens was super cute. It's an age-old story, but it was cute. And I'm really happy with how high the level of sophistication these coming-of-gay movies displayed.

Brotherhood - THURE LINDHARDT The premise is a bit weak but it's not that bad. Slightly above average.

Oh, I know him from another movie in which he plays a gay character, "Keep the lights on". You should check it, Chrono, it's worth. Great performances by him and Zachary Booth
