in other words I have seen enough gay/lesb films to help you on this (sometimes I used to burned some of my gay films for a poster that didn't have access to gay films in his town Criminal I know )

Anyways I have seen my share of Lesb films and these are the ones that are must haves for anyone starting their gay/lesb film collection

My summer of Love (2005)

why this film didn't get nominations at the Indie Spirit Awards is beyond me

The Incredible Story of two Girls in Love

...one of the few gay films with an African-American lead actress. This film is a basic must have for any serious collector

Heavenly Creature

(if you like your movies with a bit of ---> factor)

If these Walls Could Talk 2

(the first story is heartbreaking )

edited to add

Gia

(cuz' no Lesb collection is complete without this depressing like hell, yet beautiful HBO film)

without looking to see what folks posted. Imho the best gay movies are without a doubt.."HEAVENLY CREATURES" and "CHASING AMY".

I thought "Heavenly Creatures" was Kates best movie so far and the girl whop played her best friend acted her ass off in that film. Talk about your delusional social outcast. Great acting . To think this is a true story.

The actor on the right in that Sugar poster on the other page died a few years ago... Apparently ate a poisonous mushroom during a camping trip Anyway. The movie was very weird and depressing.

Twist (Kinda sad remake/rewrite of what Oliver Twist probably would have done had he lived in our times, which is hustling. Interesting interpretation of the story.)
The Beautiful Thing (Awesome movie. One of the best gay films ever made.) With two amazing songs from the Mamas & The Papas (Dream a Little Dream of me & Make your own kinda music
Get Real (Good coming-of-age british movie)
Edge of Seventeen (One of the first I've seen. Cute)
Latter Days (I loved it)
O Fantasma (Very VERY weird Portuguese movie. Includes a wank scene with asphyxiation, a REAL blowjob and some other sex scenes)
Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss (Pretty cute The actor especially. Brad Rowe ) Cute comedy.
Trick (This one is really worth watching.) It's not amazing. It's just fun. Sometimes it's cool to watch a movie without giving too much thought
Like It Is Kinda superficial movie about a boxer and an openly gay guy. Sex scenes are nice. Movie's pretty good too. Not the best.

Borstal Boy One of the best in my mind. I loved it. Two guys fall in love while in the army, all the struggles they go through. No sappy ending here, just what it is. Includes the amazing song by Hothouse Flowers, The End of The Road.
Ma Vie en rose (This one is probably one of the most moving movies I have ever seen. It's touching, it's shocking. Tells the story of a boy who really wants to be a girl and how the parents struggle to make their son happy). It's a masterpiece.
But... I'm A Cheerleader Wow, wow, wow This one is a smashing comedy/drama, with Natasha Lyonne doing an incredible job as the main character, a lesbian girl sent by her parents in a "rehab center"
Yossi and Jagger Israeli movie about two soldiers falling deeply in love while at war. It's a beautiful and very touching movie. The love scenes are beautiful. Short but beautiful. Includes an amazing song by an arab singer named Rita. A song I had all the trouble in the world finding. But I did

I think there's a few more but I can't think of any of those right now

Oh! How could I forget those !!!

A Home At the End Of the World That movie is a personal classic. Colin Farrell does a surprisingly good job. And Sissy Spacek is stunning as the mother of one of the two boys. Tells the story of a very complicated friendship between two guys, starting in their teens and continuing as they grow up.
Lillies : Les feluettes Canadian movie based on a play. Disturbing movie. A priest comes to prison to confess a prisoner. This prisoner actually has a complicated history with that priest and all the prisoners have recreated a play of what happened between the two... It's kinda fucked up because it's a play in a movie. Women are interpreted by men (Since there's no women in the prison to actually play the women)
The Hanging Garden Canadian movie about a young man who comes back to his hometown after 10 years. But did he ever really leave ?
Crustacés et coquillages Kind of feelgood movie only the French can make. There's music, there's sex, there's joy and there's pain. One of those weird movies you can't help liking.
Mambo Italiano Cute comedy about two Italian mama's boys who absolutely CANNOT be gay They live a secret life but one of them decides he wants to come out and trouble starts.
Relax...It's Just Sex Great movie. From what I remember. It's been a while. Jennifer Tilly does an incredible job. Story about a group of friends, all gays or lesbians except one. Interesting outlook on life, friendship and love. It's really worth seeing. It's beautifully written.

Not a movie, but I thought Angels in America was an amazing TV movie. It's really exclusively gay-related though. But it's certainly worth watching, and re-watching.

Ok now it really is enough
