Diana Ross at US Open for BJK event

NY Post says Diana Ross will perform at the dedication
event for Billie Jean King in NYC.

Many top tennis players will be there for the event.
Assume the top oldie women, and retired female
players.

I don't know, surprised it isn't Elton John.
He's close to BJK. But, Ross is good too.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Diana Ross will perform, and Jimmy Connors, John McEnroe, Chris Evert and Venus Williams will participate in next week's opening night ceremony at the U.S. Open.

The focus will be the renaming of the U.S. Tennis Association National Tennis Center in honor of former player and pioneer Billie Jean King. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg also will take part in the Aug. 28 ceremony, which will be shown live on USA Network. Ross is expected to perform one of her classics as a tribute to King and "God Bless America." She'll be joined by members of the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts Concert Choir.

I'd DIE to be there!!

They need to follow this up by naming the Women's Singles Trophy after Chris Evert.

BJK, Connors, Chrissie Marie, and Diana, oops, "Miss" Ross? In other words, "has been" night at the Open?

What the hell is Venus doing hanging out with them? Doesn't she have anything more interesting to do?

Best left-right combination by a German (and that includes Max Schmeling): Steffi Graf. All she did in 1987 was knock Navratilova out of #1 and try to knock Evert out of the sport. (Mike Lupica in "The Best and Worst of Tennis in 1987", World Tennis)

"A couple of years ago, we nicknamed Steffi Graf's forehand 'Jaws'. And that music would go perfectly when she starts running in to the net, swarming on that little ball." (JoAnne Russell, during the 1988 Wimbledon final between Graf and Navratilova)

I'd rather spend time with those "has beens" than that walking STD Paris Hilton and some of those other skank jobs she and Serena have been partying with!

Well, it isn't that much of a leap from Paris Hilton to Christine Marie "reigning champ of the Leggs (Wide) Open" Evert.

Scandalous!!! Maybe Chris can give Venus some tips that even Paris doesn't know about, even though we all know that Chris was (and still is--immaculate conception on this boys) as pure as ivory soap, and all those rumors about boys and pot was made up by jealous rivals!
