Aretha is great. Kelly's isn't bad. The guy in blue is nice.

Aretha's version wasn't the original. Otis Redding wrote and first performed the song, and Franklin later recorded it and made it her own. Of course her version became her signature song, and many people forgot that Redding's recording was the original, prompting him to good-naturedly say "I just lost my song. That girl took it away from me."

Best left-right combination by a German (and that includes Max Schmeling): Steffi Graf. All she did in 1987 was knock Navratilova out of #1 and try to knock Evert out of the sport. (Mike Lupica in "The Best and Worst of Tennis in 1987", World Tennis)

"A couple of years ago, we nicknamed Steffi Graf's forehand 'Jaws'. And that music would go perfectly when she starts running in to the net, swarming on that little ball." (JoAnne Russell, during the 1988 Wimbledon final between Graf and Navratilova)

Aretha, of course. Hell, that's like asking whether I'd rather see Humphry Bogart & Ingred Bergman or Ben Affleck & Jennifer Lopez doing the movie Casablanca.

Aretha's is my favorite, but as someone noted above, it's Redding's song, and he had a big hit with it. Strange that it isn't on the list.

Some are songs are better rendered than the original.

But NOT when the original is by Aretha.

There is nobody like.
On the other hand Aretha can render other artists songs better than the original

Aretha stole "Respect" from Otis Redding, just like Jimi Hendrix stole "All Along the Watchtower" from Bob Dylan.

"He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord." -- Proverbs 18:22

"Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard." -- Herb Brooks

"A man who views the world the same at 50 as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life." -- Muhammad Ali

Aretha.

Kelly and Fantasia both have good voices but I don't think the song fits them all that well. Cute guy is only kind of cute anyway.

Always vote for the cute guy
nah, I doubted between Aretha and the cute guy in blue, but then I saw he hadn't received a single vote, and I felt sorry for him.
And his performance was really good too of course

Thank you! KIM CLIJSTERS FOR EVER MY NUMBER 1
