How is the coverage of the war in Lebanon in your country?

It seems that here it's scewed towards Israel.

TV channel keep showing again and again the results of the rocket firing by Hesbollah and showing wounded Israeli citizens and the number of killed, but basically nothing about losses on Lebanon side.

I'm seeing both sides of it here in the UK thanks to the BBC.

and I've been watching Lara Logan's reports on cbsnews.com because she speaks the truth as she sees it, even if it won't please everybody.

Fox news also shows Israeli and Lebanese sides of the conflict. The Christians of Lebanon are also suffering.

Gee, could that be because Israel was (and has been)
attacked by Hezbollah and Hamas, after giving back
Gaza and leaving Lebanon...those signs of good will
and peace and following treaties helped a lot didn't
they.

The coverage is generally skewed against Israel
in my view.

Sadly, the news media generally leave out any
historical perspective for our viewing, don't give
us the history leading up to the kidnappings and
the Israeli reaction.

Nor does the news media give us the history of
Hezbollah and Hamas against the west and
the USA and in Lebanon.

They are supposedly lobbing bombs at the poor
defenseless civilians on purpose, and with way
too much firepower. The terrorists are just
reacting, and accidentally hitting civilians.

Sure.

The media is openly parading for more talks.
They want Bubba Clinton to open up a new peace
forum.

That will do what? Nothing. But, it will make for
good headlines and the coverage they like. As most
in the media in the USA are very anti-Bush and very
anti-Israel. They've become the BBC in my opinion.

Where we don't use the word terrorist, we say militant
or detainee or reactionary or the always helpful
words student or refugee (mind you, one with an
Uzi or Iranian supplied weapon in hand).

You've obviously not been watching Ms. Logan then as she has explained in depth and at length the situation and the events that led up to Israel believing that this kind of response was the only way they could go.

And honey, the fact that news media in the US is supposedly "becoming the BBC" is a good thing. Although that statement of yours is complete BS as the media in the US are far from becoming as "fair and balanced" as the BBC.

Really? Then what about the sexed up stories that were a scandal a few years ago with regards to the Iraqi war. Remember that? I listen to the BBC rado news now and then and the director general f BBC had to resign because of this. Despite this BBC news is a reliable source and so is CNN and Fox News.
I don't know Logan. The only Logan I know is a chap who has andominium steel come out of his knuckles.

Nothing is perfect The BBC is as reliable as TV/radio news comes. You're not going to find all the answers and the whole picture just by viewing one source... that is what stupid people do. Truly intelligent people gather information from a variety of sources.

And you should watch Lara Logan. She is so pretty such a good journalist.

http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/i_vi...el=eveningnews there is a link to Lara's "On The Frontline" coverage on the right side of the page.

Yeah you get these same sort of problems with the voting in the Eurovision song contest.

And the draw for the Australian Open........

It's kinda funny, actually: every time I turn on CNN, they're showing the poor downtrodden Lebanese, repeatedly repeating that Israel is bombing & killing civilians, while Fox OTOH has virtually all their coverage coming from the Israeli side of the border. While I personally think Fox is just a rubber bone thrown to true conservative dogs like myself , it seems as if it's not only Israel and Hezbollah that have taken sides in this conflict.

JESUS

The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes. Ps. 36:1

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Ps. 14:1, 53:1

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Prov. 1:7

...Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. Job 28:28

I watch French and Belgian TVs, it's hmm.. how can I say it? Obviously they are quite negative towards Israel in this case (or I should say, as always). They show mainly what's in Lebanon + the evacations of "Westerners" and at the end, if I watch the long news, they show people from Israel.

I also watch BBC from time to time and it tends to show a bit more from both sides (if there are both sides).
