Anybody recall watching 'After School Specials'?

I didn't have any friends so when I came home from school I watched a lot of TV. It's possible other people watched these shows? I'm talking the ones from the 70's and 80's here.

Yes, I watched a lot of them. My favorite was a young and unknown Michelle Pfeiffer in "One for the Road."

Whitney Houston and her receipts:

There was one. I'm trying to remember. It starred that girl from little house on the prairie. lol She had a weird lookin afro in it, if I recall rightly. Anywayshe was building a stable or something for her sister I think. She wanted a horse, but they were dirt poor. Anyway her silly sibling fell through the roof and was killed.

There was another one with Rob Lowe I remember. When he got his girlfriend pregnant.

Yup I did. Only I can remember off hand though was about a teenaged girl that was adopted and her birth mother came looking to get her back.

But what I preferred over the after school special where the Saturday morning specials. Those were fun to watch. In California they used to come on about 11am and when that was over it was time to start the day.

They were pretty cool, actually. The one with the gay guy who was getting picked on was really powerful and moving. Of course, some were just bizarre, like when the kid from "Christmas Story" was taking steroids and started breaking out in pimples and getting mad at everybody.
