2006 MLB Thread

A thread for the few baseball lovers on this board.

I'm a Yankees fan. And Giambi has been my favorite player for eight years. Let the hate begin.

I don't mind the Braves. I liked them alot more in the 90s though.

I'm also a Padres fan. Laugh at me now.

Of course It's a proven fact you can't like both at the same time.

I like any team other than the Yanks and the Sox. The media keeps slamming these two teams down our throats so much that I hop both teams lose.

Well i've been a fan of the sox since 03. Im really not sure why, i guess because they were the underdog for so long. The reason i don't like the yankees is that i think their to flashy. No team should have that big of a payrole, if you haven't won a world series in a while. They spend all this money on new players and they still can't win. And most of the players are way to cocky

They haven't won in 6 years, but they've still been way more consistent post-season than any other team. It's frustrating, though.

If you have the money, why not spend it? And they're paying a heavy luxury tax on it. Their players have the right to be cocky. They're the best in the business.

I love the Red Sox. But I havine a certain admiration for the Yanks if only because of the stories over the years and I love the rivalry!

They have the best players in baseball on their team. Rodriguez is in a slump right now, but he was last year's MVP. Giambi is a strong candidate for AL MVP this year. Jeter is overrated in all areas, but he's still a damn good player. They have the best players in baseball, but not the best team. They have holes in their pitching still, and they've overpaid for washed up old men.

And just because you're not winning doesn't mean you don't have the best players. See Seattle and Texas.

I don't think Red Sox fans can talk about the Yankees' payroll. They have the second highest, don't they?

I'm a Yankees fan but I hope the Tigers win this year!! Just 2 years ago they almost set the all-time loss record.
