Le Tour de France 2006 thread !



On Saturday afternoon begin the biggest cycling race on the world : Le Tour de France ! I hope we gonna have a way better Tour de France than the last years which were very boring with the excessive leadership of Lance Armstrong !

Selon la radio espagnole privée Cadena Ser, les noms des coureurs Jan Ullrich et Ivan Basso, principaux favoris du Tour de France qui débute samedi à Strasbourg, figurent dans le dossier d'instruction judiciaire sur le réseau espagnol de dopage sanguin qui éclabousse depuis mars le cyclisme.

Les autres noms cités sont ceux des Espagnols Joseba Beloki, Roberto Heras, Francisco Mancebo, de l'Américain Tyler Hamilton et du Colombien Santiago Botero.

Ces informations de la radio espagnole font suite à la levée du secret d'instruction, décidée ce jeudi par le juge en charge du dossier à la demande du parquet.

Apparently, the cyclists taking part in the Tour have to sign a form confirming that they're not involved in the case. If they refuse to sign the form, they're not allowed to start in the tour. If they do sign it and it turns out they are involved in the doping case, they'll be expelled and face serious fines.

I wonder how many cyclists will withdraw 'injured' now.
