Unhappy Englands World Cup bid Doomed - rooney injury

Wayne Rooney has broken a bone in his foot, add to that Owen has been booked in for a fresh scan on his foot injury, England have no strikers fit!

it isn't confirmed yet but it isn't looking good. I feel so sorry for the young lad, England fans must be gutted. On the greatest stage of all you want to see the greatest players play, I was so looking forward to watching Rooney and Ronaldinhio

Out for 6 weeks, first England match is exactly 6 weeks away.

Sven will (should) still take him in the hope that he'll be fit for the knockout rounds but its a massive blow.

Totally gutted.

Henin......Myskina......Agy

i admire Rooney greatly (when he plays for England ) but remember what happened with Beckham in 02?
even though Rooney is a wayyyyyyyyy better and more influential player than Beckham was in 02, taking a guy with a broken foot is a huge risk.

it's funny how British people say "England HAVE no strikers fit" instead of "England HAS no strikers fit". Sounds totally wrong to the American ear.

LOL I remember fucking Beckaham's foot for the last one. The Sun made this stupid front cover for people to put their hands on and pray that the scans would turn out OK.

Women's tennis sucks.

Go Rafa.

Seriously though we are cursed! You never hear of the big players getting injured at the end of seasons where they just have a summer holiday to look forward to, it's only when we have a big tournament coming with England that the major players go and get injured It's David Beckham 2002 all over again I blame Chelsea for injuring him

Still I'd take him to the World Cup cos you never know he could heal quickly

Petra Kvitová
Wimbledon - 11, 14

Svetlana Kuznetsova
Roland Garros - 09 US Open - 04

whatever, it's different dialects. I guess it's too hard a concept for you to understand that BOTH can be correct.

Of course, the Americans had to go and add their own spin to our language! . Seriously ours is probably the correct way but from region to region in Britain, the English language can change alot in the verbal form because of the different dialects and accents.
