they work similar to a scroll on your mouse, when you're viewing a long page you can use them to move the page up or down.

Rather than scrolling while reading, I hit page down and it just jumps down so I can keep reading. Sometimes the scrolling gets my eyes buggy - specially at work for 12 hours at a shot.

Yeah I use page up and page down, just cos I'm lazy and can't be bothered to manually scroll down and up I've got a button which has two words on it, 'Insert' and 'Pause'...never used it...

break used to have a function in the olden days there were two keys one to "enter" something and one for a pagebreak, this second key used to be called "break" or "return" the enter key does both jobs and the break key is now useless
