LPGA thread:Webb leads at Michelob Ultra Open, Sorenstam fails to make the cut

I just absolutely have fallen in love with women's golf as of late. I like Lorena Ochoa,Natalie Gublis and Annika Sorenstam. It provides some excitement especially with some up and coming players such as Michelle Wie who I don't like at all but it provides for interesting situations. It is better than men's golf because the men can get away with being fat. Phil Mickelson and 1/2 the PGA can have beer bellies and still be great golfers and call themselves athletes. the women seem to actually put effort in their fitness to help their golf game. I can only imagine what would happen in mexico for tennis if what is happening for golf with Lorena ochoa. There are already 2 LPGA events in Mexico and wouldn't be surprised if a couple more pop up soon. Anyone else a fan?

Lorena Ochoa
Julieta Granada Minea Blomqvist Sophia Sheridan Suzann Pettersen Annika Sorenstam Paula Creamer Grace Park

I'm a golfer and a golf fan and watch the LPGA sometimes. I'd rather watch the PGA but I'll watch the LPGA over the European Tour, Champions Tour, or the Nationwide Tour.

Sometimes I'l lwatch it over the PGA if the PGA is having a tournament without a lot of stars. One thing about the LPGA is that the big stars come together and play the same tournaments more than the top men do.

and Phil may be fat and have boobs but he's one of the exceptions now. Most of the guys are in top condition thanks to Tiger.

Kathy Whitworth is my alltime fave.

I also always liked Judy Rankin, Joanne Carner, Sally Little, Dottie Pepper, Amy Alcott, Meg Mallon, Juli Inkster.

There are a lot of good American youngsters coming up. The LPGA has to be excited about that.

I love watching those women the odd time they are on,and when I can. They look much better than all those buggers with funny names who someone said all look like hardware salesmen from Indiana. Tiger is down here tonight driving in a celeb stockcar race in Huntly(banjos)and people in N.Z. are trying to leave him in peace but it is nearly killing them

BepaZvonareva Don't read my reps anymore, very relaxing Lydia Ko , Felicity Jones, Emilia Clarke, Rachel Khoo.

I love it (and was shocked that Annika blew a 3rd round lead with a 3 ova, to lose by 2 strokes yesterday). I can't stand Kourniklone (Gulbis, who's still never won a title either) or her pal Crisitie Kerr. (Both advocate "selling sex", WTA style, like Jan Stephenson used to say).

I like "glamour girls" Grace Park and "JRo" (Jennifer Rosales) though both have battled chronic injuries for ova a year. The LPGA even has its own Peppermint Patty (49 y.o. Sheehan, who rarely makes the cut anymore). Though 45 y.o. Juli Inkster actually won a title this year. 46 y.o. (and fading) Rosie Jones plays with maybe the most pure joy on the tour.

The most beautiful swing off the tee IMO belongs to one of the many "Seoul Sisters", as the Koreans are referred to, Jeong Jang. She virtually creates a perfect circle with the clubhead. And Ochoa is perhaps the biggest choker in recent memory, as she showed yet again in the recent Major @ the Dinah Shore club, losing in a playoff to Ozzie veteran (and Hall of Famer) Karrie Webb, after shooting a record (for a Major) opening round 10 under 62.

Well, but at least Lorena made it to the playoff when it seemed all was lost and she did win in Las Vegas 2 weekends ago.

@ least the Pink Panther had to make it from being an ordinary rookie last year (unlike their other rookie blogger, Erica Blasberg, a total washout) without getting 8 figures in advance endorsements like Wiesy. (Sharapova comparisons, anyone?) And Michelle thinks she's (no height pun) "bigger than the tour" as she really wants to play with PGA guys (especially @ the Masters) with the LPGA as a convenient fallback.

oh ya what happen to erica blasberg anyway? she's not making much noise lately.. i mean even morgan pressel has more press time than her..
ok so michelle wie is a little over the top hyped up but whenever she plays there's always drama don't you think? and you can't deny her potential talent..

Well Shadow, Morgan @ 17 had to go thru a few months of begging for the 18 rule 2B waived so she could turn pro. OTOH, Michelle "just did it" @ 15, because (unlike talented LPGA rookies like Paula last year, and Morgan now) she's "bigger than the tour". Wiesy can get all the sponsor exemptions (golf's equivilant of WC's) she wants, including some for men's events. And indeed Erica has disappeared. (She was only hyped for her looks, IMO).

Funny pic of Cristie with that trophy, Sal. (I knew about her weight loss, and admire her for that). The other thing I don't like about her besides her being Kourniklone's best buddy is that she's a close friend of
the Donald. (A round and lesson with her was even the prize on his trash TV show 2 years ago).

The "animated" players like Morgan (and Christina Kim) are fun to watch, but I like the "ice queens" (like Annika, and Candie Kung).

Sally just hates Pressel. omg the little bitch cries after every fucking round ... boo fucking hoo :sobing:

And Gulbis ... why do people think she is attractive? She looks like a blonde troll!
