PECUSA General Convention 2006

Being an Episcopalian, I am following our internal politics this year. For the first time ever, we have a woman nominated to be Presiding Bishop.
Over there, you limeys have the Archbishop of Canterbury (head of the Anglican Communion, not just the Church of England). Over here, we Yanks have the Presiding Bishop.
Also, there will be much fuss over the ordination of homosexuals--though why that is, I'm not sure. Gene Robinson of New Hampshire has been sitting in the chair for some time, and he's a fine man, doing a fine job. I fail to understand the fuss.
But these issues are threating to split the American church, *deep sigh* because some people cannot 'live and let live.' Well, it will be interesting to watch.
