Where should I study abroad next spring and why? Either Brussels or Prague?

So I've changed my mind about 58 times and now I've finally settled on one of these two. I'm leaning towards Prague because the city is absolutely gorgeous and I could get by a lot further on my budget. However, Brussels allows the opportunity to do more extensive travelling because I'm 3 hours or less by train from five major cities (London, Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Luxembourg City).

So which one and why? Which has the better nightlife? Friendlier people? More accessible? eEtc.

Haven't been to Prague. Have heard it's great as a city and as a tourist destination.

Am not fond of Brussels at all, not of what I have seen, but as a place to study I think it is more renowned. It definitely will allow for more traveling to other big cities. But Prague is much much cheaper from what I have heard.

So what is your priority? Staying within budget or seeing much of the continent? I think night life will be good in either city.

I agree with what Martijn said. It depends on where your priority lies. Brussels is not really my thing, cause there seem to be a lot of unfriendly people there who refuse to speak Dutch, but other than that you will get by well in both cities.

I think English will get you further in Brussels than in Prague, but be wary of stubborn francophones

If that's where your priorities are, I'm sure that's the best choice.

Forget what my dutch friends said, people are very warm in Brussels (and where the hell do they refuse to speak dutch ?? Well of course one could say flemish is not dutch... lol)

Anyway, prague is probably a great city, but as you said, you risk to stay stuck in there, while Brussels is really near almost everything which is great, even if Brussels probably not the best city there is in Europe lol (though of course as I work there I might see it differently)... Plus if you go tu study, Brussels uni is a good one I think

This can't last. This misery can't last. I must remember that and try to control myself. Nothing lasts really. Neither happiness nor despair. Not even life lasts very long. There'll come a time in the future when I shan't mind about this anymore, when I can look back and say quite peacefully and cheerfully how silly I was. No, no, I don't want that time to come ever. I want to remember every minute, always, always to the end of my days.

I think it depends on which is the best uni out of these two.

I'm sure there are very warm people in Brussels, but why do I never meet them?

Coz you're not warm yourself and people get cold to your contact ?

I dunno about Brussels but Liege is my new fave city around

So many friendly people, tons of students, a little mess (just enough to spice things up). it's fantastic. And the Univ is great.

Anwyays, CoryAnn.. make your choice considering the quality of the University and not the city.
