I know, in Eritrea, if you are a Jehovah Witness, you can't live there, so a lot of people who followed that religion has gotten asylum in Europe/U.S.

Nope, because "either you are with us or you are against us."

I think rules for granting asylum vary by country, but I have a hard time imagining one of the islamic nations refusing asylum to someone who could prove they were being persecuted in their home state because they're muslim.

Reason is poor propaganda when opposed by the yammering, unceasing lies of shrewd and evil and self-serving men.

would you have rather him been skinned alive?? For me this move by Italy is about humanity more so than religion and I applaud those responsible for it. I'm actually surprised the US was not the first to volunteer Many people from around the world receive asylum based on various reasons, don't see why religion shouldn't be one--- and to think that I don't particularly care for it

yes, Malaysia does not give any visas to Muslims to visit the nation but non muslims need one. Also Saudi Arabia only allows Muslims to visit Mecca as you know. Rahman is a political refugee whereas most of refugees in Europe are economic ones. Europe is bound to give refuge to political refugees and it does not take a genius to see that Rahman was one too.

Most countries grant asylum to thousands of people every year, this guy's case was genuine, his life was in danger in Afghanistan, it has got nothing to do with religion. Try not to make such a big deal out of it

What's the problem?

If someone is being persecuted for a reason such as religion that is exactly what refugee asylum is for.
