What's happening to UK cheesy pop?

We all like to dance to a bit of cheese when we're pissed and then cringe about it the next day with our hangovers

but what is there to dance to at the moment? chico time?

i miss steps, s club 7, and of course the spice girls...as 'uncool' as they all were, they released some great and catchy tunes that would leave us humming for days on end and had countless UK single number ones. No-one needs to take a pill to dance to their songs, they give you a natural high of ecstasy anyway

Lets analyze:

Girls Aloud 1st two albums were good, but they're fading. Their last single scraped top 10

Atomic Kitten won't find much success solo (hello jenny frost 'crash landing' )

Rachel Steven's 2nd album was barely average.

Solo Spice Girls are gone (mel c and geri's last releases were embrassing)

H and Claire have dropped off the planet. Lisa Scott -Lee last song 'Electric' was tragic.

Kym Marsh flopped

Sugababes are fab, but they'll probably split, they're just not the same without Mutya lol.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Natasha Bedingfield seem to have vanished.

Jamelia's is concentrating on motherhood.

Liberty X aren't the same anymore.

So posters, is pop coming to an end?

Edit:
Cheesy artists added by other posters:

All Saints
Westlife
Boyzone
Take That
Gina G

Girls Aloud aren't really fading. Two top 10 singles and a top 20 album isn't bad, but still, 'Chemistry' deserved to do so much better than it did. See The Day was a top 10 Christmas hit, which isn't bad. Biology came in at number 2. There are at least 3 potential great singles they could release though.

Rachel Stevens' second album was a complete flop, but, it was a great album. Seriously.

Sugababes - Don't know what's going on with them

The Spice Girls - I hope they realise they're pretty much nothing on their own, but as a group they're dynamite.

All the rest suck. Natasha was doing well in the US not so long ago.

Women's tennis sucks.

Go Rafa.

He also has Millie Small's 'My Boy Lollipop' on his playlist. That song also features in Spiceworld.

I sadly have to agree God knows why it didn't succeed cos it is actually a fantastic piece of pop music. I can only assume people didn't buy it cos of who did it and so they assumed it would be S Club all over again, when in fact I'd say it's more Kylie-style

Although I am very ashamed to admit it, I enjoy listening to Rachel Steven's 2nd album a lot

Svetlana Kuznetsova
Roland Garros - 09 US Open - 04
