What kind of car should I buy?!

Wow, I will buy a car soon, finally!.. well, atleast put a down payment on one. But I know nothing about cars! I mean, well, i am not clueless. But I only know about luxury vehicles, the kinds I can't afford. LOL! But I dont know anything about *buying* a car, like all that stuff about miles the car has on it... wth? And I dunno what are the best cars for the 18-25 age group I guess, in terms of price, safety, and best of all, style. So can anyone advise me?

I'm a young girl, an old WTAWorld member.

Are you buying a BRAND new car, or close to it?

hmmmm, I'd recommend a Honda Civic, or Accord...You seem like a Honda girl..They last a LONG time and have really good warranty programs...

I would not reccomened something like a Kia or a Hyundai however...Hyundai's break down easily, and Kia's are safety hazards..

DO NOT buy this if you want urban style--
but if you want it to last a long time, get a Ford F-150...
but I can't picture you in one, sorry...

omigod, are you kidding me, i would love a truck or a jeep. But please elaborate people.... if ya got pictures, or know anything about the mileage and can explain it to me, and if ya know anything about the general pricings And Mrs. Guga can so drive a truck. OKAY!

SVSK, my mommy drives an accord, so that's what i always drive. Her car. What about a Volkswagon Jetta or Golf? Are they in the same price range as a Civic? I guess the Passat wouldnt be, but I think it's the cutest. Hah, I said cute.

And yeah, I am smart enough to know that Kia sucks balls

1. Do not buy a new car.
2. Find a used car that you can pay off quickly, within a year. Get it checked out by a mechanic before you buy, and negotiate any repairs it needs from the asking price.
3. Check Consumer Reports for reliable models/years. Then pick the one or two that fit what you are looking for. Sign up for CR online... it's only a few bucks and worth it and more for such a large purchase. The site will also have a lot of advice on buying.

Never sign a loan for more than 48 months. Anything more than that and the interest will kill you.

I was just going to mention a jetta or a golf..or a passat

They are very good cars from what I've known but they are more pricey than a honda...

what about a scion TC...Those cars are NICE and they are VERY affordable...but EVERYONE around me has one...

my mom says i should do a car with a cheap down payment so that i'll have money to pay for repairs and stuff. She refuses to let me do a used car. She's too skeptical. ANd she thinks I should try a Hyundai or a PT Cruiser! :sobber: Opinions? I want a Jetta! Not a Hyundai! Omg, why can't my mom be Oprah
