DVD burning questions

Say I have a DVD and I want to make a copy of it,

1) what do I have to do? Do I have to have 2 DVD burners? I already have a DVD reader incorporated in my PC...

2) If on one dvd-r say I have 2 episodes of a show, can I burn one episode on one DVD and the other episode on another or will I just be able to make a copy of that DVD?

Someone help!

What i understand from this question is that they're in a single file and i don't know how to split in two...in the site i gave you probably you can find the answer...

Ok, I'm a bit computer retarded

So practically I have to first rip the whole dvd onto my computer and then burn it onto another DVD?

Won't I get super decreased quality?

That's the way it works. Usually when you do a movie backup the loss of quality is small but in the case of spliting i don't know...

^ and you can also choose to take out extras, subtitles and other stuff that takes up disc space.

most discs will use 4.4 gigs of space or less but bloated DVD's have all the extra stuff that you have to take out in order to burn it unless you have a dual layer dvd and a dual layer supported burner. i have a dual layer burner but no dual layer discs. they are quite expensive.

Federer Blake Fish Roddick Grosjean Bryans x2

I find it so difficult burning DVDs. In the end I had to cover them in gas before they'd catch on fire.
