Mariah Carey takes 50 Cent
and not just in the bedroom....
Mariah Carey has taken the Number One position for biggest selling album in America this year, with just days to spare.
Carey's "The Emancipation Of Mimi" overhauled 50 Cent's "The Massacre" earlier this week, to claim pole position in the sales chart across 2005.
According to latest figures for the year, "The Emancipation Of Mimi" heads "The Massacre" by just 32,000 copies, having shifted 4.866 million copies compared to 50's 4.834.
If Carey, who was recently nominated for seven Grammys, holds onto the top spot, she will become the first female solo artist to head the end of year figures since Alanis Morissette did so in 1996.
