Thumbs down Apprentice fans... get your butts in here NOW!!!

K, well it's really late here and i probably should go to bed but Australian TV just viewed the Apprentice finale and i've gotta say that Randal's reaction to Trump's offer of hiring Rebecca tells me that he was not the right choice!!!

So you've just been told you're The Apprentice, not your competitor but you. You are now an employee of the Trump empire - shouldn't the organisation be your number 1 priority???

I'll admit now i came into this series late and have never watched a previous series but DAMN that Rebecca is one tough girl. She did not crack once through that final task and she showed some awesome qualities. Wouldn't you want her to be on your team rather than having one of Trump's competitors pick her up?? I dunno, i just thought Randal was out for himself and was more concerned that she would show him up!

I do quite a bit of event management through my work and based solely on the final task, Rebecca ran a far more successful event. Not only was the final product much classier and fluid, but operationally it ran a lot better as well. I do not blame her for looking out for Yahoo's best interests and taking their advice on how to collect donations. The ONLY thing i could criticise was she did not give enough exposure to the Aids chairty through the audio/visual compilation and other event aspects as well as the fact she didn't meet Trump or give him any idea of what to speak about or what was going to happen.

What do you guys think?

I dunno, all i know is that if i ever open up my own company, i would want someone like Rebecca on my team for sure!

Well, we watch the same show, came up with different perception of the contestants. That happens all the time.

I happen to think that Randall was a runaway winner> During the regular season he had three wins and no loss as a project leader (3-0) to Rebecca 1 win, 2 losses.

He raised more money at his event, and he made a very effective, sincere speech explaining autism (to wider audience) and how it affects families.

Rebecca did not raise money, which was the goal of the competition. Remember, this is a competition to pick one winner, the best performer.

Next, Randall is an inspirational leader: people just want to follow him and win for him.

I totally agree that Rebecca is determined, driven and intelligent, but her decision making process is not mature enough. She made the wrong decision picking Toral, not once, but twice. That also calls into question her judgment.
Loyalty can turn into stuborness, and this was the case.

Last, Randall has started many businesses, and as his personality indicates, he gives back to the community where he or his business resides. This is very rare for some one of his educational level (5 academic degrees, 3 of them from prestigious education institutions in the world).

I liked Rebecca somewhat more than Randal agree with your assessment, and would've hired her before Randal. But I could see why Trump would choose Randal, so I didn't care much either way.

I totally agree wtih your thoughts about Randal's choice; I was shocked and appalled (still am in fact).

Don't bother with the other thread; people forced it into a racial argument and if you wouldn't debate it that way you were called names and badrepped.

I liked Rebecca also and thought Randal was a bit of the jerk but I really think there should only be one winner otherwise it would've taken from Randal and he did win fair and square so...........Also I think Donald really liked/was sleeping with Rebecca.

Do you think Trump's wife is the most pleased by Randall's answer?

I thought it was just me who thought Trump fancied Rebecca. He really liked her for some reason and sometimes that can go farther than experience/qualifications for a particular job.

Throughout the show Randall was the clear favorite. He won all his challenges as project leader, garnered the praise of his contestants, and IMO was over-qualified for the job.

He was selfish at the end, but as I previously stated he should of never been put in the position to hire Rebecca. Trump missed the boat on that one.

I don't agree with your contention that other threads about this topic were all racial arguments.

Early in the thread, there were acutally good arguments from both sides, with strong disagreements but expressed with civility. It only degenerated in racial arguments in the latter part of the thread after Randall defended his decision in the press and on TV.
And you cannot single one single party to blame, both sides may share the blame.

I however, agree with your point about badrepping people just because you do not agree with them. It is rather immature and borders on temper tantrum.
I have been the recipient bad reps for expressing strong opinions.

You claimed you have not watched any previous seasons so let me ask you this:

Do you think it's fair that Randall was chosen as the first Apprentice winner to hire his opponent? The purpose of the contest is to hire one qualified Apprentice. I would not expect Rebecca to hire Randall if she was given the option either.

Also this is Trump's organization so don't you think he could of hired Rebecca after the show was over? He did hire another previous contestant so he could of did the same thing for Rebecca.

Personally I think it was about ratings and controversy but that's debatable. I still feel the best person was chosen for the position, and Rebecca seems to be doing quite well because many employer's are feeling sorry for her. I just feel it's a win-win situation for Rebecca regardless of how you look at it.

If Venus won the Wimbldon final and the WTA tour asked her to share the trophy with Martina Hingis I would hope that she would tell all of the WTA tour to politely and with a curtsy to FUCK OFF.

Randle won the game show. He is the winner and he should not share the prize with anyone. Just like Venus wouldn't share with Hingis.

The real point that many ignorants/or racist bigots arent talking about is THE DONALDS decision at the final hiring stage. It was the same ole same. A bunch of people and piglets losing there cool and GIVING such a RISE over the man they so loved throughout the entire show and then in a matter of mere seconds hated. Those fools didn't like Randle from the get go.
l Read Harloo's post in the thread hopefully you'll see the light.

Overcome their sentimentality, some posters have lost a sense of perpespective as what the show was about. The show's theme clearly state that goal is to hire one apprentices.
As you stated, it is a competition like any other. One winner takes all.

Imagine how this show would have been, if at the end of the very first season, Trump had hired the the 2 finalists.

Utimately, it us to Trump to hire Rebecca, but not as a co-apprentice.
From all accounts, Trump thinks Randall made a good business decision and stuck to his principles. His calls about Randall's response were split, with hard nose businessmen backing Randall's tough and unpopular decision. They think that is what a businessman is faced with in real life. Tough and unpopular decision, with guiding principles being integrity, honesty, and long term health of the organization.

Now the person who badrepped me is asking for help on another topic, and I have the help, and have helped her in the past with other questions. I usually like to help but I'm turned off.

About the thread, you are right, it was good conversation at first.

Dawn - i think your analogy is crazy! Comparing this to a Wimbledon title? Very bizarre. All i'm simply saying is that Rebecca showed qualities to me that would have made her an asset and i'm surprised Randal didn't want her on his team - she wasn't a joint winner - yes she would have shared the spotlight but Trump only hired one Apprentice essentially. But again, i didn't have the advantage of seeing previous episodes but i was very impressed the way she handled herself in the final task. It is not easy to try and pull an event together without clearly knowing the goals and getting mixed feedback from clients.

Harloo - probably not, no. I'm not quite sure what i would have done in this situation. I am particularly interested in his motivation that prompted his response. Yes he probably did not want to share the spotlight, it was his moment and that's fair enough. From what i saw though, it wasn't the right decision for the organisation.
