Beatles or the Rolling Stones?

I was playing who's the bestest game with an Afro Punk I know. I said the Beatles-by a long shot! John Lennon was a genius. What about:

Bob Marley* or Jimi Hendrix
Elton John or Sting*
Usher or Marvin Gaye*
Madonna or Cyndi Lauper*
The Supremes or Destiny's Child*

The Beatles were so far ahead of their times it's scary.
Marley.
Sting--he is a musical wizard.

I will go with The Beatles but it was a tough choice.

Bob Marley or Jimi Hendrix
Elton John or Sting
Usher or Marvin Gaye
Madonna or Cyndi Lauper
The Supremes or Destiny's Child

The lovely thing about being 40 is that you can appreciate 25 year old men more.

I don't really who's better but my husband loves The Rolling Stones and he actually got me into them now. The Beatles are bit too light for me and I was never into light rock music.

The Stones were blue eyed soul before there was such a thing: "Brown Sugar' is classic. And I love "Mother's Little Helper" and "Sympathy for the Devil."

That said, the Beatles, mainly John Lennon sang of peace and hope and unity. Paul (lightweight) Ringo (irrelevant) and George (Had his moment with "My Sweet Lord") would probably have been one-hit wonders without the powerful influence of John Lennon.

I like the Rolling Stones a lot...but The Beatles win this hands down.

Hendrix
Elton John
Usher or Marvin Gaye - don't care
Madonna
The Supremes

The Rolling Stones are a second rate pub rock band. And Paul was the genius. Thats why John had him killed.

Neither,
Marvin Gaye,
Madonna,
The Supremes, obviously.

....This is fucked up, fucked up....

This is your blind spot, blind spot.
It should be obvious, but it's not.

You just crush yourself and walk away
I don't care what the future holds
Cause I'm right here in your arms today
With your fingers you can touch me

I'll be your black swan, black swan
I'm for spare parts, broken up.

What? The Stones got top ten hits from the mid sixties to the mid eighties. Satisfaction is among the rock classics. You still hear them reguarly on the radio, why's that? The Stones are behind the Beatles one of the most successful bands ever in history.

say again? Why did John kill Paul? Last I heard Paul is very much alive and married to a one-legged woman.
