Did anyone get tickets to the Commonwealth Games?

This is really only a question for Aussies I suppose but how did people go? I applied for 5 events and got 2 which isn't too bad I guess. Did anyone else apply?

I missed out on several of the events that I applied to see, and I've now lost interest. Think I'll save my money rather than re-apply or whatever you have to do. I'll get to some of the athletics and stuff.

I got all the tickets I wanted. going to some boxing, and I think it's 4 or 5 track and field sessions (including the finals of the mens and womens 100m)

I got tickets. I applied for 3x basketball and 2x netball and I got 2x basketball and 1x netball, so not bad. I would have liked to go to the swimming but it was too expensive and I expect very hard to get tix anyway.

I applied for a session of each of the following:
Athletics, Basketball, Netball, Cycling, Rugby.
I got Basketball and Rugby. The Basketball is the Womens final so I'm pretty happy with that one, but a little disappointed I missed out on the Netball final and cycling. I applied for cycling at Sydney 2000 and missed that too.

Yeah I know what you mean. If it wasn't in Melbourne I'm not sure if I'd bother either. But people in Melb were like that about Sydney 2000 too until it started and then they're like why didn't I go?! Once it gets underway everyone will be watching and taking a big interest in it.

If the other countries, esp the poms, were a bit more competitive it would prob raise the interest in it more, but as it is Aus will win over 100 gold medals and beat every other country in most of the sports. In that respect it's a little different to the Olympics.
