English speakers: Help me!

I'm watching Even Stevens on TV (you know these series?)
I don't understand this sentence :Younger men are totally in this year.
Here is the dialogue:
REN:
When did you realize you had a crush on Louis?
RUBY:
Well, yesterday, when I was leaving your house...
REN:
Ruby, come on. You're a year older than Louis. You're in different grades.
RUBY
Younger men are totally in this year. I have so much to teach him.

Louis is Ren's younger brother. What does Ruby mean when she said that?
thank you so much

"Totally in". Most likely in this context is interpreted as being the cool, popular and fashionable thing. I.E. Dating a younger man is the fashionable thing to do.
