erm.. what happen in the 16th century.. it was the Renaissance right?

and what is the Renaissance and what happen during that period of time?

Basically the rebirth of the traditional Roman and Ancient Greek thoughts in architecture, art, etc.

I thought it was from 1400's onwards. It depends on where in Europe though.
