Post those of you who have graduated from uni..

did you have any idea what you wanted to do? .. or did you make sure you got "placed" during your last semester so you knew you had a job waiting for you..?

-also were you satisfied with the job you did get..?

I'll graduate with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice in May - and am completely lost atm .. I planned on going to grad school straight out of graduation.. or taking off a semester before going back - but the more i think i about it .. the less i think itll happen (due to financial reasons).

I'm gonna turn 20 next week - thus I'll be graduating at a very young age and so am just completely second guessing things..

*hopes im not the only one*

Well. I graduated in law, but wasn't sure exactly what job I wanted. I had worked as an intern in the DA's office, but it is hard getting through there for a real job as you require experience. I ended up working as a lawyer for asylum-seekers and refugees. It is a hard job, but very gratifying. Half a year ago I went to work for a municipality, where I am now employed as a legal consultant, dealing with legal problems in the area of social security. I still provide some advice to the organisation I used to work for in my spare time as well. My career however has never been planned. I always took advantage of opportunities given to me. I looked in a wide range of possible directions. I always like doing new things to develop myself further.

Looking back, I landed allright, but perhaps it's wise to plan a little, since it will be easier to find a job that way. Good luck!

I know how you feel. I was garduating with a degree on Computering Sotfware Engineering a few years ago but I ended up working as Accounts Assistant. It's boring.

I'm not really looking forward to graduating, I dont think I'll get a job. I usually have problems even getting jobs now that dont require a lot of skills, so i wont be able to get a graduate position. I'd like to get a job in the legal field but apparently its hard to get a articles at a firm, and i'm not one of the better students, so there goes my chances. I dont know what i want to do if i dont get anyting in law.

i took year off after i graduated to "find myself" and i am glad i did. i know what i want and i know what will make me happy, i dont have to spend the next 15 years of my life in something that makes me unhappy. yes i wont be as well off as others who go in to finance or what have you, but as a teacher i can be happy at my job.
