I hope Spain doesn't host it.
They had it in 2002 in Madrid and hardly anyone turned up. There was no atmosphere.
I think the US doesn't bid for the 'smaller' athletics events because (quoting Michael Johnson):
"The American general public just aren't interested. For example, right after Sydney I walked through New York's main shopping area and the only people who recognised me where foreign tourists. That's why all the American athletes love coming to Europe. People know them there".
I don't know if that's 100% right, but if Michael Johnson says it, then I've no reason to doubt it.
The 2004 Athletics World Cup should be held at Crystal Palace.
Small venue yes, but the British crowd always pack it to the rafters, and always cheer every athlete.
