Nelson Mandella she's not, she should lay off that one.
I don't really care about Martha Stewart, I don't watch her programs or read her magazines, but I think what they've done to her is outrageous.
Yes, probably she did lie to the investigators, so what? why the hell were they wasting resources in such a trivial transaction in the first place?
If she gets 5 months for lying, then some people should be burnt alive.
It's like, give me a fucking break, she lied, so what? who did she harm with that?
to start of, she did not do insider trading as she is not an insider, what are you suppose to do? someone tells you a company is in trouble, you should hold on your shares to be "honest"? yeah whatever.
And this broker assistant that declared against her, the guy was hungry for publicity, he did sound like a cry baby and let me tell you something, he might have gotten his 5 minutes under the sun, but he aint working in brokerage again. Simple, if I had investments, I would never put my money in a company where this guy works, for what? to have him declaring against me if I didn't treat him well once? I would simply take my money somewhere else, just if he works there.
it's amazing the investigators spent time and money on this, for what? what did they get in exchange? will they have investors to be more "honest"? not really, they will just be more careful, next time an investigator asks an investor a question the answer will be "talk to my lawyer" even if they asked for the weather.
Great job convicting a "liar" when Enron and Worldcom's executives got away with it
it sure sends a strong message, cheat, but do it right.
