Ms.Dynamite Arrested

Ms Dynamite has been arrested following an alleged assault in a restaurant.

The rap star is alleged to have hit a fellow diner in the face during a row in a Chinese restaurant in central London's Soho district on September 17.

The 2002 Mercury Music Prize winner, real name Niomi McLean Daley, has been released on police bail pending further investigation.

According to a Scotland Yard source: "The woman says Miss McLean Daley shouted at her then attacked her. It appears there was a heated discussion in the restaurant entrance."

"It is not clear what caused the argument, but the woman claims she was slapped. She made a complaint. Miss McLean Daley volunteered to come forward and was arrested."

A friend told The Mirror: "It's not like her to get involved in a row. She hates violence and always tries to make peace whenever there's a problem."

Ms Dynamite won the Mercury Music Prize with her debut album "A Little Deeper" and has become an outspoken opponent to gun crime and violence.

She took time out from her career last year to raise her first child, Shavaar, and is currently finishing the follow-up to "A Little Deeper".

It is against the law, its called assault. Did you know that if you hit a gentlemans' cane it could assualt too. you dont have to actually hurt the person, just cause them to feel that they are immenent harm, or some legal mumbo jumbo like that.

Yeah just making somebody fear that they will be harmed is assault. For example, shouting and screaming at somebody and them backing away from you so they are against a wall and you continue shouting in their face... That's assault. She couldn't have hit the woman very hard or it would be classed as battery.
