Is there a 'dress code' for wedding Rehearsals?

My brother is getting married tommorow and I have the rehearsal tonight. Im wearing a polo shirt and some cargos but I have flip flops on my feet. Im starting to wonder is it alright to have flip flops on? Its casual right?

Come back EVENTUALLY Cappy!! Ok this clearly was written back in a day when I still had faith..

That should be ok... they're usually pretty informal. Well, the ones I've been too anyway.

I would dress a little better than that, you don't want to look like a slob if people are better dressed, and you don't want to offend the priest, rabbi, or whomever is doing the wedding. The polo is fine, though a casual dress shirt with long sleeves and button-down collar, pressed dress pants with cuffs, and some pennyloafers would be far more desirable.

It must be a US thing coz I would never dress that informally.

LOL I misread the post - it's a rehearsal right? Then that's fine imo. I thought you meant the actual wedding day *slaps*

OMG babe...I had the same problem...I am going to a wedding next Friday evening at a country club in Westchester. I thaught that because it's a late evening wedding and at a country club...It would be less formal (I was gonna wear a nice DKNY black suite with a white button up DKNY dress shirt with the first button open and no tie)...WRONG...I have since added a really nice silver tie to the ensamble and more formal shoes...

Will you be there?

Yeah casual is fine to wear for a rehearsal, though I think the ladies still have to cover their shoulders to respect the church or something.:retard:

My sister had a very formal wedding...suits only for men. However, the rehearsal dinner was quite casual. I wouldnt wear jeans, but a nice polo and something like cords. It's not formal, but it never hurts to try and look your best! And I bet you look hot all gussied up!

By the way, I think there should be a dress code for them. I've been to many where people just wear shorts, t-shirts etc., I think I'm a bit old-fashioned, but I suppose more people just don't care what they look like these days. I'm usually one of the most dressed up whenever I go to them, but I don't care. I also don't like when I'm in a nice restaurant and I see people looking way under-dressed. I'm all for being comfortable and casual most of the time. However, there are times (like rehearsal dinners) where it is a big event and it's respectful to look nice.
