If not because of DHL, it'll be the B-H-V problem!

well after cd&v winning in flandres, and vld losing, i thought we'd have new election in november/december, but apparently it will be more like january/february according to the latest gossip

I think it's pretty clear that this country can't be governed this way! I used to be semi-neutral, now I'm beginning to think Flemish indepence not such a bad idea at all.

Hoogstwaarschijnlijk wordt de economie dan zodanig de grond in geboord da'k zonder werk val en geen andere keuze zal hebben.

In this specific case, I have the feeling that it's the strong independencies of the regions that is the cause of this whole mess! If only the Belgian government would have to decide this would have not have been a problem at all.... But now all small regions don't want to give in and then you get this situation.

It's the combination of having both federal and regional governments arguing over the decision. It's a clear case of parties in local governments abusing the fact that they're not in the federal government. They're blocking it on purpose to make the federal government and prime minister look bad! The CD&V is doing a lot of the blocking and they're the first to cry out it's an embarassement the prime minister can't manage to get all the different parties to agree IT's a "nya nya nya, you can't do anything to us because we're not in the federal government" dig at the prime minister.

True, but I didn't hear Ecolo announce on the radio (because it was in Dutch, most likely) that it's an embarassement, that their party is for a solution that involves both a future for DHL and offers the people around Brussels some sleep.

I mean, really, Mr Crem, if there was such a solution, why would they be discussing it for so long? I'd love to hear the solution you propose!
