Arrow Republicans are behind the effort to censor Fahrenheit 9/11

http://www.altpr.org/modules.php?op=...rder=0&thold=0

By Kurt Nimmo

So desperate are Bush Republicans to kill Michael Moore's latest film, Fahrenheit 9/11, they have hired a public relations firm to set up a web site attacking Moore. The site, MoveAmericaForward.com, claims to be "non-partisan," but a glance at the "About" page of the site reveals the director and staff of Move America Forward are all diehard Republicans, anti-tax activists, and former legislative staffers. The PR firm is Russo Marsh & Rogers.

Russo Marsh & Rogers is a GOP consultation firm. In 2002, Ron Rogers teamed up with Reagan heavyweight Lyn Nofziger and Ed Rollins to work on the gubernatorial campaign of Bill Simon (see Campaign movements -- People & Organizations.)

Thanks to the detective work of WhatReallyHappened.com, it was revealed that Move America Forward's web site was registered in the name of Russo Marsh & Rogers. In other words, Move America Forward is about as partisan as it gets without putting the GOP seal of approval on the web site. In short, Move America Forward's campaign is a Republican dirty trick designed to smear Moore and pressure move theater owners not to run his film.

"Time is short," the Move America Forward web site declares, "we must act now to have our voices heard in time to make a difference. Help us get messages from millions of Americans sent to these film industry executives."

Certainly, time is short for the Republicans -- millions of Americans are about to learn how George Bush had a business relationship with the Bin Laden family -- and they will learn it right before the election. Russo and the "non-partisan" Republicans want to make sure you never see Moore's film. They don't want you to know the truth about Bush and his buddy-buddy dealings with the Saudis.

Incidentally, after a WHOIS check -- WHOIS is a searchable database maintained by registries and registrars that contains information about domain name registrations on the internet -- was run on MoveAmericaForward.com and it was discovered that the site was registered in the name of Russo Marsh & Rogers. Soon after this information was posted on the web, the registrant name was modified to omit Russo Marsh & Rogers.

Not only do the Republicans not want you to go see Moore's film, they also don't want you to know they are behind the campaign to smear Moore and pressure theater owners into not running the film. It's just like the Republicans to do this sort of thing behind your back. Of course, it is rather lazy and stupid of the Republicans to not think about WHOIS. But then nearly everything about the Republicans lately -- from the lies behind the invasion of Iraq to clumsily attempting to cover up the TortureGate scandal -- has been lazy and stupid. Don't be fooled. The Bush Republicans are behind this now transparent effort to silence Michael Moore. If you care about the First Amendment and don't like the idea of Republicans dictating to theaters what movies you can see, write Russo Marsh & Rogers and tell them what you think. The contact person is Douglas Lorenz and his email address is: dlorenz@rmrwest.com. If you live in Sacramento, you may want to drop by the Russo Marsh & Rogers offices and ask why they want to censor movies: 770 L Street, #950, Sacramento, CA 95814

Sorry, Michael Moore is making up all this and distorting the truth to get the film more publicity. Everyone in Hollywood knows this. The minor distribution problems it faced pale by comparison to other so-called "documentaries" and for not a moment was this film in danger of not being released in a timely manner. Now more people than before will flock to see it thinking it has some fantastic content.

If he is distorting the truth then why is their a movement to stop the showing of the film by Bush and his cronies?

I have always thought Moore was a whacko, and I did not see Bowling For Columbine. However if the President and his staff need to start a campaign to censor his movies, it must have some truth too it.

I think I will see Farenheit 9/11 now just to what the hoopla is all about.

There are probably GOP efforts to correct materials he has falsely stated and/or not told the full story on, like he did in Bowling for Columbine and there are efforts on-line and otherwise to get the corrections. I am sure the Bush family has done loads of business with the bin Laden family. What Moore will fail to say, likely, based on past things he's done, is that anyone who has done any business in Saudi Arabia has done business with bin Laden's family. It is one of the largest most powerful families over there. Moore has a talent for half-truths and distortion. Maybe Moore has really damning evidence, but I doubt it.
The film is not going to change anyone's mind. People who like Moore and believe everything he says already hate Bush anyway. People who do not like Moore will not vote against Bush for anything Moore says. This is a hysteria publicity stunt to boost up people seeing it. No one ever accused Moore of being stupid.

Helen,
I would not have thought that the defense of right-wing fascists would bring a tone of seriousness to your posts.

Thanks, I take that as a compliment! I hate Moore more than I hate Bush, fair and simple. Moore is so clearly manipulating the public about the so-called "ban attempt" by the government just to get publicity for his movie.

Moore was mean to my poor Charleton Heston, so I bear a grudge.

Charleton is a little thick between the ears (always was, dear, this is not due to age) but someone has to look out after the old coot these days.

I hope it ends up being shown in it's full form here in the US. I think it would be good for people to see something about the truth of the Bush administration. I cannot for one stand Bush and his army of Republican idiots, and I even am a bit more on the Repub side of things but even I won't vote for Bush Jr again. That man has done nothing but nose dived this country into the ground since taking over, jobs are lost, being sent over seas, people are getting killed and gas prices rise.... If we don't get him out of office, I'm afraid to see what that bastard does with 4 more years. He'll do enough to get me to move over seas myself!

I'm BACK & SINGLE. So lock up all the hotties!

The economy isn't better, and how the Bush admin gets away with those lies is beyond me. First of all, the local big time business around here Eastman Chemical, has been laying people off since Bushs' second year in office. They lay them off, and have not hired them back every couple of months. Secondly he cut a tax break to businesses taking their job search out of the US, how the hell does he think this helps us? Oh by giving the businesses more money? Well Bushy, if the workers here are unemployed and not getting money, they aren't going to spend to help the economy. He's done everything ass backwards he can to drive this country straight down the toilet. I admit I voted for the man, but the hell if I'll ever vote for that piece of shit again! NO BUSH IN '05!!!

I'm BACK & SINGLE. So lock up all the hotties!
