greece defeating Portugal isn't really a surprise.. Portugal has some great players, but their team is not that great. Figo Why doesn't he play on his own?

Well, maybe Portugal is not a great team, but they are logical favourites to the Euro anyway!

Actually, all the Euro organizers have always been at least semi-finalists (except for Belgium in 2000 , because of a country who isn't even in Europe Anyway, Belgium has been a semi-finalist when they hosted in 1972 )

And, let's not forget that Greece had only scored once in the past in the final phase of a big competition, and never won a match... So, it is quite a surprise to see them winning against Portugal!

Of course, anyone who saw the match would admit that the best team won yesterday...

There is a thread in the chat threads, but it's full of Brittons (and one Belgian) wishing that France gets beaten badly tonight, so I'd better not venture there until after tonight match.

Taļaut, messeigneurs, taļaut!

Portugal was awful yesterday but I must admit Greece defened very well and deserve to win for that. Figo was carp thoughtout the match well in fact the team are not playing very well at all. Deco and Ronaldo are the only players in the Portugaese side who trying to do something about it but failed. Rui Costa was also awful in this match. The worse thing is that they have over 60% of possession but yet they havn't done a lot with that to turn the game round.
However I hope England will inspite with the Greeks performents in this match. We do need a lots of inspitrations for the big match against France.

Freddie Ljungberg is a big tip for flop of the tournament

Never done it for Sweden, and since November, just 1 goal and 3 assists for Arsenal, a team who dominated English football and wen unbeaten the whole season.

Undoubtedly Arsenal's weak link last season, and likes of Wilhelmsson and Kallstrom are more likely to show good in this tournament (inparticular Kallstrom)

In Group C, it will be one of Sweden, Denmark and Bulgaria to go through with Italy, in what is the weakest group.

Sweden should get through i think, Ljungberg as a passenger or not
