imo the best diet is a mix of carbs and protien. before you exercise you have the carbs for energy and after the exercise you have the protien for repair and recovery. if you dont have enough protien then your muslces dont recover quickly enough for your next exercise session and it isnt as effective. especially when it comes to building muscle.
