Reasons why gay marriage should be illegal

1. Homosexuality is not natural, much like eyeglasses, polyester, heart surgery, and birth control.

2. Heterosexual marriages are valid because they produce children. Which is why infertile couples and old people can't legally get married.

3. Gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

4. Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage is allowed. Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage was meaningful.

5. Heterosexual marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are property, blacks can't marry whites, and divorce is illegal.

6. Gay marriage should be decided by people, not the courts, because the majority-elected legislatures, not courts, have historically protected the rights of the minorities.

7. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

8. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

9. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

10. Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why single parents are forbidden to raise children.

11. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society. We could never adapt to new social norms because we haven't adapted to things like cars, longer life spans, or women voting.

12. Civil unions that provide most of the benefits as marriage, but with a different name, are better because a "separate but equal" institution is always constitutional. Separate schools for African-Americans worked just as well as separate marriages for gays and lesbians will.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I say this from a USA point of view, knowing that many countries do not entitle their poeple to such freedoms. Now I don't know if this post was simply IGNORANT/INFLAMATORY or a very DISTASTEFUL JOKE.

Regardless ... sarcasm or not ... it's rather distasteful.

I don't even know where you're coming from ... it's people like you that taint our country.
a) I'm a lesbian And I found it hilarious
b) I didn't write it... its all over the internet and its probably posted here before anyway
c) Um... I guess its true most Americans don't get sarcasm... Each point blatantly means the opposite to what it says! It's making fun of people who actually do say "being gay isn't natural", "It will destroy the sanctity of marriage", "gay marriage will make more people gay" I mean... they are ridiculous statements and deserve to be mocked!

And I'm sorry if you found it distasteful. But I didn't... I thought it was funny and I'm gay so... I'm a distasteful dyke

yes i posted it here in feb. lol but you are forgive,

i thought it was high lah rious. i really enjoyed it, but i was saddened to because some people actually believe in all seriousness theses here statements.

"racism is dead, it died when MLK walked on a bridge and freed the slaves. Now we have a socialist Kenyan president who is not an American and if anyone mentions race they are a reverse racist (while racism is dead, reverse racism is alive and well.) #whattheyteachyouatfox"

It was to be expected, just like there are different points of views ... there are different styles of sarcasm.

I find Quick Witted responses throughly hilarious... but by JUST posting what you posted ... its not in response method ... it looks more like statements.

so that's where i stood.

It's perhaps more "irony" than sarcasm as sarcasm usually is used in response.
