Question for the smart people:

This may seem like an irellevant question, but it is quite important for me to know this. So if anyone can help it would be great!

How much (approx) does it cost to be a MINOR sponsor at an event such as a marathon or fun run. eg. City marathons, aired on tv.
Would 100,000 be enough?

Hmm, I suppose many factors would come into play. If it is on TV, what channel? Something like ABC, or CBS would be quite expensive to be a sponsor for, even if a minor one. Maybe something like ESPN or FOX sports would be a little cheaper? Also, what is your product, will they even want you as a sponsor? I assume you have a product, or do you just want your name recognized?

The product is a cereal brand.
I want to sponsor a fun run.... but i do not want tv advertisements.... more - posters and banners at the actuall event site. Therefore being recognised on tv is somewhat of a complimentary benefit.
I am looking at this as a form of creating Public Relations. Thats why i was only really considering costs of the actuall relationship with the event organiser.
BigBo8822 - thanks for your reply.... do you know anything about this sort of stuff?
I can't seem to find any websites or anything?

Why don't you talk to someone you know, who has some degree in marketing or something like that? There are loads of people in the business
